I usually do granary-forge-courthouse in the same situation... but granary-courthouse makes sense to me if they don't have metal casting

Courthouse is generally better than a forge in that case unless you are IND. Doing forge first is a common fallacy because it is so easy to calculate its ROI. But in the gap between building the forge and courthouse you generally would save way more gold than you save on hammers in building the courthouse after the forge, for a new city that cannot build things quickly.

Well, one must always look to the concrete when doing this. A city with lots of hammers and relatively low costs, the forge might be a better investment. A city with high costs and relatively few hammers, then the courthouse becomes the better build.
Apolyton has pushed new cities hard the last 20 turns, so getting a courthouse up in one of their more established cities that's still a way from their capital can be good play. Hard to tell from here.

Yeah. I managed to log in just after the turn rolled but before I had to leave. WPC has just finished a tech or Moai (they got a 28-point score increase), but every other change seems modest.
Also, CFC bulbed Philosophy just before they ended their turn. Not much else to add. That barb down by the fur went 1S, so we likely won't get help from CivPlayers to clear that out.

They made it sound like they were going to be stretching themselves to get it to us by T130 as requested in the deal, and it's T128 now right? Nice to get it a couple turns early. Though I would almost prefer T130 as that would mean they can't cancel prior to T140.
