I would mark a line through the last paragraph, but that's because I don't care if they like it or not. We know that it didn't delay their religion spread, even if they don't know it. I don't really care if it bothers them. (Maybe that's not the right attitude to take when posting in the diplomacy thread? )

well it certainly clarifies why Scooter is handling the diplomacy and not you.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Shrug. If we close them and then explicitly say "you cannot enter our borders" and then re-open them and they move in anyways... That's an equivalent agreement violation. So I'd say screw them and declare war to break the OB in that case.
I'm not afraid of that scenario is what I"m saying.
Just as long as they can't move the missionary into the city and use it all in one turn

I don't think the missionary line really communicates the fact that there is no difference in travel time between the direct route and what we did, especially to a team that is used to RP stuff, it's just going to look like RP, not that there really was no difference in travel time. I still don't think it's worth responding to them about it. Let's just get the missionary to their city directly. Respond in actions not words, and let them feel like their desires and concerns really mean something to us.

(The missionary already spread the religion about ten turns ago.)

Even more reason not to say anything.

First paragraph looks good, I would send just that. Second paragraph makes us seem like we're using humour to excuse ourselves and are guilty of something, so would leave that one out.

The message is fine. It's not like we're going to send any more missionaries WPC's way for quite some time, anyway.

Just notifying you that we keep our obligation, by both its letters and spirit. So we were not going to enter your land and spreading religion or doing any other mission. We understand you concerns though, but still hope that this wont be obstacle in our further relations.

Now that we have Paper, should we try to get any map trades?
WPC is the obvious candidate, since that will make sure we both have good visibility on the German lands, but I'm not sure it will benefit us much otherwise. Maybe some vision on Univers' borders and WPC's remaining land, but not much else.
Univers? We have zero visibility on their land, and I think it might make it easier for us to get some communication going with them, but I don't think they have good map data on CivFr or CivPlayers.
Apolyton has already said no, even though I think their map data is the best of all the teams (they have OBs with everyone).
CivFr would be great, but I'm not sure they'd be willing. The Germans had effective scouting early on, it seemed, so they're a possibility but I would be careful about doing too much diplo with them currently. The Spanish is an outsider possibility, but I think a worthwhile one.
Last, good news with CivPlayers! We can re-open borders this turn, I think.
