The city of Lakshmi:

The city has a forge, granary, Jewish temple, and library. There are mines on all the hills.

So yeah, as far as I can tell it comes down to a coinflip on t134, where we whip for 6 pop and they whip for 4 pop. I think the only possible way we could avoid this would be by hiding our production and whipping at the end of the turn, and hoping CFC doesn't whip because they get greedy. CFC ended the turn last turn and logged out in the same minute, which makes me suspect they didn't check how many hammers we have in the Taj, so there is a chance we could surprise them. Therefore, perhaps it is worth queuing up another build behind the settler, and not switching back to Taj until the end of the turn. (And then quickly swapping in a decoy build again until the end of t134 when we whip.)

The trouble with the build swapping is that CFC has the guaranteed turn roll due to their war with the Spanish, ie they control the exact moment that the turn rolls. The logout they do is forced by APTmod, but they can log into the APTmod web site and check EP numbers just as I do.

Oh, I didn't realize the aptmod site had EP numbers.

If CFC chop their two forests around Lakshmi on turn 132 (this turn) and add 20 base hammers of natural production, they'll get to 352 + 80*2.5 = 552 hammers, which will enable them to 4-whip the wonder on t133. Not much we can do about that.

So the best we can hope for is a coinflip on t134.

Can we get three workers onto the deer this turn? Or two workers, and three more within road range? If so we can chop (or road+chop) the deer on t133, which should make the TM a 4-pop and not a 6-pop whip for us on t134.
I have to run.

Oh, you're right. That probably simplifies things.

In that case, the important thing is to have another build queued up behind Taj on t133, in case their production phase happens before ours, so the hammers aren't lost.

Kind of hoping that CFC finish the wonder on t133 so we're not forced to 6-whip for a coinflip. lol

Anyway when we initially started planning for the Taj Mahal a lot of our motivation was to deny the wonder from CivFr, at least that part of the mission is accomplished.

So regardless of outcome here we gave it our best shot and we don't really have any plans that depend on the Taj golden age, so no big deal in the larger scheme of things. The failgold will fuel our teching, and ED can produce our next great person at its own pace.

CFC has chopped the last two forests outside Lakshmi.
