Not landing Taj is also going to affect our research rate. Is Guilds still a first-wave option or do we need to plan on maces & elea for the initial thrust?

I definitely favor Nationhood now. Kjn - when you gave the 28gpt savings for Nationhood, was that just from the Civics screen, or did you also factor in inflation from F2?
Do you guys want to delay the war, tell WPC that not getting Taj has delayed the time table on our end?
In Soviet Russia, Civilization Micros You!

Here is our current budget screen: Ie inflation is currently about 11% of our costs, so adjusted to savings of 29gpt (as of this turn), it comes to a combined saving of 32gpt. Adventure One contributes 106 gold to our income in Bureaucracy, ie circa 19 % of our GNP, and gets 28 commerce per turn as AO is configured right now, which means 35gpt due to democracy. Ie, this turn we have a difference of 3 in favour of Nationhood. Here is our current city list, for those interested in output for each city and GP and culture times: We are a fair bit away from our next GP, and have even longer to our next prospective golden age. Also, Dazed found some silver, together with a scouting German work boat:

You can hover over the inflation number to see the exact inflation rate. It's just a multiplier on the rest of the expenses.
Bureaucracy also gives +50% of base hammers in AO.

CivPlayers has settled their 15th city, named Costalot (they seem to have a sense of humour), and it's another very aggressive city plant:
Ie, the city is 1N of where we had vague plans of settling a sugar city, and with major overlap with Wolfratshausen. They obviously have no consideration for keeping good relations with the Germans. We might be able to get a gems-for-sugar or spices-for-sugar with CivPlayers later on, and it can be a good opening for getting open borders again too, though.

Pretty sure that city claims gems.

Yeah, it has two gems in second-ring (though one is contested with the Germans - I wish them both luck with that).
