THH, hop onto chat and I'll talk to you about what Old Harry and I discussed this afternoon. I meant to do a nice big full writeup of stuffs going on for both our civs as an update, but ended up not getting around to it today. And I'm kinda tired and don't think I'll get to it tonight now before the next turn, and we have some stuff to discuss before you play your next turn.

Going to bed now, but just wanted to let you know we destroyed the warrior Everyone but SMack and the city All Our Hopes, formerly Petunia. Lame attempt at diplo is lame. I renamed the victorious chariot Destroyer of Everyone.
I founded Walcheren Isle, the planned Moai city.
Oh frak, I just realized we broke the rule "Can't accept or cancel trades if one partner has ended turn and the other hasn't" when I accepted the copper trade. Thankfully I didn't do anything with it. We should probably let everyone know for fairness' sake, though. I guess we should've left HAK's turn unended while we waited for me to be able to play? That's awkward.
I bet everyone else forgot that rule too... put it in the tech thread without mentioning the copper, I expect no-one minds.
And oh dear, commodore angry? Great use of chariots so far! can Destroyer fall back and keep an eye on the border regions in safety? Now to settle city x and put our army in there!
Completed: RB Demogame - Gillette, PBEM46, Pitboss 13, Pitboss 18, Pitboss 30, Pitboss 31, Pitboss 38, Pitboss 42, Pitboss 46, Pitboss 52 (Pindicator's game), Pitboss 57
In progress: Rimworld
Okay, here's the full report from yesterday:
LAM's power in response to our chariots: ![]() New city and situation: ![]() My three workers just finished the rice-farm and the plains hill mine at the capital. I really need more workers! To answer your question, Old Harry, both chariots fell back since there wasn't anything more they could do. Cities (I left tile assignments as you guys had them, even though I didn't understand all of them): ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I whipped this as instructed to send south. I realized some things I mentioned, like the copper deal above and whipping this city, made no sense since they were decided in chat and not in this thread (btw, I think we should avoid this in future except with serious time constraints). Here is what was communicated to me in a chat with HAK: HAK: Heya THH: Hello. So, what do we need to discuss? HAK: Was getting ready to go head to bed, so I just sent you a bunch of in-game chats for you to read when you log in...but may as well do so here too. First up, I'm jealous that you're gonna get to be the one to raze LAMs city. :D THH: Still just a warrior? HAK: yup. so it's yours THH: Sweet. HAK: I did keep my chariot away from the farm of WK's. Destroyed their road and then moved to a hill that they can't reach me at with the spear they did end up building. THH: Sounds good. HAK: so now they'll obviously re-send their settler with the spear protection, so I can't harras them anymore. THH: Unless you send a dog. HAK: true. but that'll be a little ways off. THH: dawg HAK: the main thing you'll need to do is whip the settler this turn in VR. Then send it straight south (2S next turn, and then settle 1S of that the following turn). That same turn we're estimating I'll have the HG. So you'll have to play first that turn THH: Okay, understood. HAK: The other settler, this turn you'll be able to settle the Moai city. THH: Okay. HAK: Also, if you keep your research at 50% this turn, we'll get Priesthood when you end turn. THH: Okay. HAK: Then we both will be doing a turn of getting gold, to then start on Monarchy. I sent you my Copper that I just hooked up, so when you're growing cities you'll now be able to build Axes. THH: Ah, excellent. I suspect I'll need them against an angry Commodore. HAK: yeah. Actually, you should make at least one spear in those western cities next THH: Given his past performance, this is going to be one heck of a fight. Yes, good point. HAK: both should probably make a spear when they're done with thieir granary THH: Sure, I'll do that. HAK: I also asked for your Gems for a few turns. Mt Loon will grow next turn and my whip unhappy will be with me for the next 3 turns. And none of your cities will grow into unhappy before 3 turns THH: Okay, will do. HAK: we'll canel the trade when you need it again. hopefully I'll also soon get my second Furs hooked up to send to you. I'm estimating about 6 turns or so THH: Excellent. HAK: I think that's eveything. ![]() THH: Okay, thank you for the detailed rundown. I'll go play that then go to bed! HAK: ok, see ya tomorrow. I'll have to do my update tomorrow morning as well. THH: Okay, g'night. (I actually ran 90% research, consuming all my gold.) So I'm supposed to settle 1SW of the sheep next, build libraries in Verrieres Ridge and Courcelette, and build spearmen in Juno Beach and Calcar Ridge after the granaries, right (can I whip the granaries when that becomes available?)? Or do we want another settler for the pink dot right away? I'll go post about the trade thing in the tech thread. Oh, here's that picture. This is what you all wanted to see, right? ![]()
Just to confirm: the timing of the copper trade is only irrelevant if neither civ used the resource on the turn that it was traded. Is that true?

Don't bother settling pink dot..start building troops NOW. Commodore does not play around. He will put continuous pressure on (see PB8). I'd like to see at least 2 spears+axe+chariot (and 1 or 2 totem archers would be nice) in the exposed western cities. You really need a dedicated military pump (to produce most of the troops over time) because relying only on the whip when a city is under threat is a very risky move. Whipped troops should always suplement the existing garrison. /end rant

Should I switch off the granaries in the eastern cities to build troops too? (May 5th, 2013, 13:47)TheHumanHydra Wrote:Do they have horse? If so, spears first then the axe. If not, then just build 2 or more axes. I'd position any chariots over in the western theatre to spot any incoming stacks. HAK needs to start producing totem archers to gift to you as well.(May 5th, 2013, 13:43)CFCJesterFool Wrote: Don't bother settling pink dot..start building troops NOW. Commodore does not play around.
