PBEM on Sevens new mapscript

I think telling everyone what starting resources type they have is an acceptable compromise, along hte following lines:

If they have a grain, say that first,
If they have seafood, say that second,
If they have an animal, say that third.

Provided I can repick with hte new information. Otherwise I'd have to say I prefer no additional information rather than a full start reveal (and it's not even reasonable to discuss this now IMO, as we are all biased after being given our starts).

I want to state this explicitly, thought I'd written it in earlier but obviously didn't: This is for food resources in the FoW. So if Player A can see, say, a fish, and there is also a fish in the fog that they can't see, they are still told that there is an additional seafood resource at the capital site. Ignore all resources that can already be seen.

Obviously everyone needs to agree to this to work though...

It seems I've opened a can of worms. I did not intentionally hide resources, what you each see is an unedited view of where you spawned.

I'll post one food type per thread, in every thread. No detailed logic matrix needed.

Krill: I can't currently see any food. There is one resource and it isn't edible (ingame). I assume that there are two food, as that's how the map works, but now I just have to gamble on what tech i'll need.

Ok, so we have Krill who picked with the start he saw, me who was ready to pick with the start I saw and Seven and Ichabod who just want to proceed with how it is right now. Guess that's the majority and we should just proceed with the picks? If that's the case, sorry Kyan, but I try to help in another way, see below:

I checked your thread on this mapscript and found this explanation how BFCs are "corrected":

Seven Wrote:mountain -> hills
tundra -> grass
desert, ice -> plains
jungle -> removed, 2/3 chance of forest added
Add one "good" food resource* if there isn't one
Add one any food resource if there aren't at least two total
Add hills until there are 3
Add forests until there are 4

Basically it's a little more conservative than the normal civ normalizer, in that it never adds resources past the first 2 that fulfill the food requirement, and never adds forests past 4. It also doesn't ensure fresh water (by adding a 1-tile lake or a river), which I realize is a bit noob-unfriendly.

Is that still the case? If so that would mean everyone does have 2 food resources even if you can't see one right? And what would be good food-resources? I assume wet wheat, rice, dry or wet corn, fish? So that should give everyone a good idea what he has even if he can't see it, right?

I'm sorry, but I feel that I must request both a new map and a new map maker.

I can unequivocally state that I will not play a turn on this map.
