I don't view pure beaker comparisons as that useful, since you can bulb techs (Oracle, Liberalism, great people), and techs has different discounts, but anyway: RB: 23,166 (6,480 from bulbs, 16,686 from research) CFC: 18,576 (1,440 or possibly 3,240 from bulbs, 17,136 or 15,336 from research) CivFr: 16,236 (all from research) Apolyton: 14,526 (at least 1,440 from bulbs, at most 13,068 from research) CivPlayers: 10,566 (estimate, 630 from bulbs, 9,936 from research) Univers: 7,956 (estimate) Spanish: 4,626 (estimate) Germans: 3,618 (estimate) WPC: 3,420 (estimate) Anyway, looking at it here I'm more confident that CFC used their their GE to bulb Engineering - otherwise they'd have a greater beaker total than our team. And while they have an academy, we had a very early shrine to fund our research. It also supports us keeping reasonable relations with CivPlayers. Having them as a buffer against CivFr can be quite valuable later in the game, when we border both Apolyton and CFC.

ah, ok. that was a long time ago, I'd forgotten <G>
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
T145 notes
It's virtually certain that Apolyton will beat us to the Economics Great Merchant, since both they and CFC researched Guilds this turn. Ie, there will be three teams with knights by T150. Good thing we have our war elephants - we might want to get one or two to reinforce our border with CFC. CivFr researched Horseback Riding. But the main tech news was that Univers researched Alphabet. Their known techs were somewhat of a surprise. They know all ancient techs but Polytheism. Among classical techs they know Iron Working, Math, Alphabet, Monarchy, Calendar, Code of Laws, Currency, and Metal Casting. They also know Civil Service, Paper, and Education, if I interpret the tech trading screen correctly. Rival total power increased with 49000, but 30000 of that comes from confirmed techs, and I think we had some pop increases that impacted power as well. Ie still hardly any real military buildup. Note especially the flat military for the German team. One curious thing about CivFr's golden age is that it seems they didn't generate more than a single great person during it (a great scientist on T142), despite having both the Parthenon and the Great Library. Compare this to CFC who managed to get three! On the last turn of the golden age, CivFr adopted Bureaucracy, OR, and Buddhism.

Currency allows Code of Laws which is not listed, so they must know it. CoL plus Alphabet allows Civil Service which they must know. CS allows Paper which they must know. And Paper allows Education which they must know. Or, more simply, "Can Research" Gunpowder is a telltale for Education, since they lack Machinery and therefore Guilds.
Univers went on another whipping spree. CivStats seems to have reported it incorrectly, they performed 4 2-pop whips and 1 3-pop whip (not 1 5-pop and 3 2-pop as CivStats indicated). Most of the whips had a target of 120 hammers, probably forges, except for one that probably is for a library.
CivPlayers were up to 240H invested last turn in Xochicalco (+15hpt for several turns), down to 0 this turn, but I can't see any new buildings in the city. No idea what they're doing there - ideas and theories are welcome.

Perhaps they are building a wonder and are now swapping off of it to whip a worker or something else into it.
