Really great post by Zargon. That's a great way to approach CivPlayers.

I agree that we can't forget Apolyton (I've been hoping to see them on chat today), but I disagree that it's more likely. First, CivPlayers directly confirmed they have a thing with CFC, so that's a sure thing. Second, as of right now, Apolyton would keep 0 land so they gain nothing from a war with us. They're far less likely to be committed. It's still a strong likelihood, but they are limited geographically in a way CP is not.

+++++++++Support for Zargon's logic. I'll be first in line to stick a spear in CFC's eye.

Just be warned that CFC and CPers are probably going to be understating the diplomacy they have with one another.

Great post Zargon. I was wondering if there was a way to extort 5 turns about that myself, but that logic is perfect

:tinfoil hat: Yossiarian Lives is a good cop with zero actual influence on the team thrown in to distract us as the sommer/2metra faction continue to plot our doom. Keep in mind that he is new and relatively unknown, likely limited influence on the team.

CFC: sommer and his faction are convinced RB is the devil incarnate from the rules debate months before the game actually starts
RB: general dislike of CFC scumminess
As one of the most vitriolic advocates against CFC, I don't really see the RB position as all that fractured. If anything your and scooter's moderate positions are the outliers! And I agree with you that the CFC diplo deal was a poor agreement!
Definitely worth trying to extend the CP NAP.

Yeah, Zargon's logic is splendid, though maybe a bit on the verbose side.
BTW - Scooter: CivPlayers gifted 40g to the German team this turn. Another indication that CivPlayers are antagonistic.

And the gift happens after Scooter has sworn them to secrecy and told them we are going to declare on the Germans, while before that Civplayers were concerned they were the target!
Might want to use that in the next chat.

Darrell - agreed

Huh?
Acting all oblivious about the WE angle'd probably irritate them more. And then if they complained, you could have replied "oooooh yeah, *smirk*".

From Apolyton:
Quote:Hey,
Sorry for the delay in answer, but still this is the general consensus of our team: We don't want to sign any nap extension just yet, we want to see the events of the coming turns and decide accordingly.
