Cool. One thing I've thought about is managing the game saves. I don't know if you have a way of easily accessing/backing up the folder the game saves stored in. If you have a Dropbox account (or similar service) maybe you could have the game save folder inside the Dropbox folder so you'd be able to access the save files remotely. If the server goes offline you can still get to the files easily for transfer to a backup host.

Serdoa was last to log in so unless he started a war or played around with Privateers we should be ok.

Well, this is not a tech-issue, but as we are down anyway, I would like to ask how all the players feel regarding a concession to plako. I did want to wait till some wars have been finished, but with all the downtimes lately I figured I rather ask now and maybe save sunrise the hassle of putting up the game again and again.

I obviously am in favour of conceding but to not spoil something that might not be known to all players I would like not to elaborate why, except to say that I do have to invest ~30-60 minutes per day at a minimum to play my turn and that is something I would love to save at this point where the outcome does not seem in doubt anymore to me.

I'm still having fun managing my doomed little empire, and I know some people are still involved in an unresolved fight to the death, so there is definitely unfinished business here. But I agree that none of it really has anything to do with the outcome of the game. I'll abstain from voting for now since I'm OK either way, either continuing to play or saying gg Plako. I enjoy spending the time in the mornings before work playing out the turns even though it all amounts to a hill of beans. But I can just as easily spend that time playing in another game if the consensus is to end this game.

Though I expect our lurkers won't be pleased with the game ending before a global war erupts.
