I'm not sure that I will play overall stronger than the opposition. We have quite a few players we don't really know much if anything about. For all I know Kurumi could be the new Krill. Given, chances are higher he is the new __________ (fill in name of your choice, I'm not touching that hornets nest). But still, I don't think I'm the definite winner already. If I would have thought that, I would have never signed up for the game. I mean I do want to win, but that's the same reason for why you are not running a sprint against kindergarden-kids. Sure you win, but its kinda shallow.

I agree. Also, this is a big game, where a lot can happen until the end. But I think our position is solid, nonetheless.

Update, because we have played 2 turns... yeah!

So, we finished Masonry last turn. This turn I finished the two chops (after checking that SH wasn't completed in the meantime) and we will finish SH at the end of this turn. Lets hope we get it and not lose it to a coinflip. The question now becomes: What next?

Current tech status:




I have chosen Fishing as our next tech because I think our next best spot to settle is the 2 fish spot. Overview of nearby land:




2 fish spot up north (west in the screenie) that also grabs copper, settling on the desert next to the fish. After Hunting we would have 5 happy, so could work 1 fish, 1 copper, 2 PH-mines, 1 GH-mine for a total of 16 hammers / turn. Or 32 in case of Pyramids. Also 3 forests for chops available. Oracle would be a 5-6 turn build. Not that I think it will be available still in ~20 turns (which we need to get to PH if we go via Poly). That hopefully will shrink with the next city and the others growing.

Possible other spot of course would be the one discussed earlier at the rice. For that though we should change tech to Pottery to get cottages earlier. I'm not sure what is better. Cottages would be fine to get the other techs quicker, but the other city will provide more stuff earlier. I think getting that and building another quick settler for the other spot is better than the other way round. But I'm open to discussion about that.

that looks like a good spot since it claims copper. afterwards I think you need to settle towards the jungle, and maybe other people <G> the other direction we won't have competition for.

I think the fish city is better to settle right now. We get three commerce by working each fish and our workers will be north anyway, so we can plan to chop the forests into a WB as soon as it's settled. Besides, the workers will keep north to improve the pigs, when we finish AH.

Getting fishing first will also make Pottery cheaper. Every bit helps, right?

Let's chop, chop, chop and expand like crazy. if we want commerce, just work coast. Lighthouse number 1 economy building.

Anyway, yeah, I strongly think we should plant 2N of the pig for the next city. I forgot that we don't have AH though, that's a bummer. AH after Fishing I'm pretty sure (not worth getting Hunting first for the discount when every turn we're not pasturing those pigs).
