Notice anything different?
I'm going to try my hand at the Kremlin, although if France gets Communism in 4 turns they'll rush it and beat me, which is probably game. Still, need to try.
The RNG declared it does not want me to try for Physics, as I defied 89% odds for a scientist and got yet another spy. On the plus side, I wouldn't mind a golden age either; I might just use that plus caste to get another artist and properly finish off Dazed.
Hum te tum...

This is a touch crippling.
Nicky the Stick have a very nice vassal setup with Dazed.

Okay, what's been happening? Dazed has been making persistent and concerted attacks, trying to push roads against my pinker dot-cities. I've been able to whomp the ever-loving tar outta him each time, but it's tough and he has cannon and cavs to punish any heavy incursion. I did enjoy killing his GG rifle at last.
The Front de La Pico Turquino est muy violencea! Yeah, foreign languages netted me my only high school C's. But anyway, this wide and grassy front has been a right proper slaughterhouse; whomsoever advances; dies. Still, Dazed fights through war weariness and massive losses to be the best little French whipping boy he can be!
Speaking of the French, a nasty spy steal and then...
...that's game. I try to make peace with Dazed, but he's being intractable; the man stays bought, he wouldn't take peace, offering instead for one of my cities. He's doomed now I suppose, so might as well carry through on the initial suicide. So, here is the front of the Everlasting War; I've learned to make this place home.
Did have some fun; the battles made yet another great general for Dazed in his Moai city; fortunately, I managed to scrape the XP for Nav1 in a good time. So, splash one more Great General! Sadly, the Ring of Fire is a bit too well-defended to take.
I did squeeze a bit of satisfaction from the turnip, braving low odds to raze Alexandria and slow the horse-building a bit more. It ain't much, but until AT plays out his string, we might as well have fun.
I am loving the MFG totals; we're having fun with the endgame of the SE. Caste/SP workshops are all over the place, it's getting a little silly...
Also bringing up levees, which is nice for the ridiculous capital location. Nicolae/thestick is following on all these new techs.
...at least now I can still any silly invasion ideas on the part Dazed. Look what I got!

What went wrong:
1. In this war
2. In this game?
3. What would it take to win?

1. In this war? Not much, insofar as it went. Dazed invaded me, I crushed his invasion and razed three cities along the border, taking a fourth for peace. Then, as he was massing again at the end of the 10t peace treaty, I slammed out the music artist in a great work and took all that you now see in a turn of violence. That was good. Then, however, I reject peace (would have been the same thing) and we stalled and he's now suicidal (well, probably was when he attacked me in the first place).
Lesson: Attack me and you will lose the game. You might be able to defend from my attack, however.

Thank you! When following so many games, it's sometimes hard to follow the big trends (at least for me). And I will try to remember the lesson.

Also, wasn't this a rather discredited trope?

Long and grinding war continues to be long and grindy. Dazed unfortunately covered his city, so now I'll need to wait for transports' greater total carry to punch out the damned city. Skirmishing battles did produce a great general, so this turn I noticed an opportunity...
...and took it. Sadly, I think Dazed will be able to get railroad in time to spam machine guns everywhere after this; I think I'm going to have less success anywhere that isn't coastal to my transports. Oh well.
Thanks to the crippling war weariness, I'm just about able to see a path to a CV; if I could take Dazed's excellent town'd capital I could easily grab a CV before AT or Nicolae hit space. Hard to say for sure, of course, but I've got all these cheap temples...
Helping with the war weariness, and also with EP-economy-following-the-assembly-line-boys, I sped things up a turn to net Constitution and thus Jails. Hey, maybe I can steal AssLine and stop losing massive hammer totals to overflow wastage here in Vinson!
Speaking of massive hammer totals, Ironworks are coming online shortly. This is going to be a bloody obscene city shortly; forget 1t Infantries, how about 1t tanks and bombers? Sadly, needs a bit of health help at the cap, because factory + power plant will make this place neigh unlivable. That's fine, though.
One additional consideration; corps are on, so I definitely am going to try and push out a Great Merchant for Sid's Sushi. It would be very nicely profitable, particularly with Wall Street in the Confucian shrine city. Here's the empire as a whole: Sad when you consider how much better France is doing, amazingly advanced when you consider that war weariness is up to 12+ in some places.
Dazed, a most excellent kamikaze indeed.

Dazed's been so very careful about covering Understand Man, but does he know about four extra hitters in the fog?
