as far as the tech: I guess it comes down to, can we finish both by the time we 1)finish a worker 2) farm the wheat 3) chop one forest

seriously? wtf, our capital is good. I thought it was wheat, corn is even better. I wouldnt have considered pigs first if I realized that.

It is corn, but it's on a plains tile. Corn and wheat are identical for everything (although obviously Health has an impact later on).

Played 2 turns and I set tech to BW for now. I think that's going to be the better play here. Slavery/chopping/copper vision and hunting close behind.
I scouted north and west. Jungley, BUT I know where our next city might go. Unjungled gems in range of the pigs. Also found elephants as well! No huts though 
Take some pics and we'll discuss. next scouting moves.

ooh i got in late. ill grab pics though.
our land sounds wonderful. makes up for no huts in the long run. I thought we were northern, but I guess we're close to the equater, but south of it, judging by the jungle.
so with calender we'll have 4 happies (+1 w/ forge, +2 with market). we can have some fun with that .
im really hoping we have copper, so we can skip animal husbandry for a long time and still be secure. and grab an early religion .
