Just to make something clear, snake pick is leader pick?

It is both leader and civ pick (we are playing unrestricted). Let say there are 3 players and they are randomly assigned numbers 1,2, or 3. Number 1 picks first (leader or civ), then #2, #3, #3 again, #2 and #1. Hence the "snake pick", it goes along U shape of sorts.

Hi guys, sorry for not being active recently, I still traveling.

Going back to the rules discussion (they will be posted together with the setting in the first post of the players thread once decided).

Please help me summarize the discussion so far:

Quote:Specific rules:
1) No logging in outside of your half of the turn during war for whatever reason, no double-moves during war (and turn before) (everybody agreed so far)
2) No peaceful double-moves, either (i.e. we play as sequential turn whenevr doing otherwise can give player whatever advantage. We do not play 2 turns in a row, we wait at least 2 hours between turns (everybody agreed so far)
3) No city gifting unless returning to the previous owner (so far everybody agreed except Bowsling)

4) No diplo before in-game contact
5) No changing production, research etc just after turn rolls (to hide what you are doing)
6) No turning to AI
7) Generally, no pauses and reloads, unless special circumstances
8) DO NOT BE A JERK

Setting:

A) Everybody starts with scout (everybody seems to agree so far)
B) Emperor or Monarch difficulty?
C) Do we want to see starting location before snake pick?

Does anybody have problem with rules 3-8? What is our preference on settings B and C?

Dick76 is on vacation but would be happy to pair with any willing player. Anybody? Atm Dick76 is the only one without teammate, would be nice if somebody joined him. Dick has played in many Pitbosses so both inexperienced or experienced partners would be good.

I hope so, he wrote me he is on vacation now. He could definitely use a teammate, though.

I would rather not see starting location, for the additional tension and excitement. I would prefer only the knowledge of world terrain to make snake decisions.

I choose Black Mamba. *whistles a tune, prancing around in a nurse outfit, eyepatch at the ready*

I was initially thinking not to do it to start the game earlier, but now I am very tempted to see the location before the pick. We have to wait for Dick anyway and perhaps we can get one more team to satisfy Lord Parkin's wishes for an epic game. I also think the more the merrier biggrin.
