I just bought the Civ5 Gold upgrade for $5, netting me Gods and Kings. That's a pretty nice deal, even if the game hasn't quite "clicked" for me yet. Well, at least it's better than base Civ5, and there are actually (gasp!) interesting decisions to be made every turn.
New Civilization 5 Expansion - Brave New World

I'm really liking the new culture victory mechanics, at least as far as single-player goes. It's cool because you more or less have to abuse every non-combat mechanic and system they give you pull it off quickly. You need to wonder-whore since that's the only real way to get great work slots with theme bonuses, you need every GPP bonus building/wonder you can get for your artist/musician/writer specialists, you can't neglect religion because you want to use faith to buy great people later on, oh and by the way you need to beeline printing press and forbidden palace so you can institute your religion as the world religion which gives you a 50% tourism bonus, and make sure to get some city state allies so you can prevent voting to repeal that etc etc.
It's not perfect, and of course it highly depends on whether any of the AIs starts to run away in culture, but it's a heck of a lot more interesting than "finish 5 policy branches". Incidentally, in my culture win with Venice I actually ended up getting enough social policies to theoretically complete the old victory condition before the new one
I played a EMP game with vience and won. Their mercent of Venice gives 2x BASE Gold so if you finish commerce you get 2x gold not 1.5x gold.
Yeah the new culture victory has meaning. It feels now like a victory - dominating the other civs. And the AI tries to get it too (some at least).

Anyone wanna try BNW multiplayer?

Is the picture saying that the Caravan costs 200+ hammers or that you are producing that much? Because the number of hammers you are producing is slightly higher ...
Or does it just deposit those hammers into another city? (August 4th, 2013, 19:39)Tasunke Wrote: Is the picture saying that the Caravan costs 200+ hammers or that you are producing that much?
