Hmm, I agree defense is warrented. Keep a close eye on the power graph. As for city placement, I don't see any big rush to settle due West of the capital, there isn't any immediate competition there that I can see on the mini map?

Blue's cities of Cades Cove and Mt. Thunderhead are completely indefensible and should be pressured. I like the plains hill spot... it can incubate cottages for the Holy city as well. But honestly I'd consider the flat desert closer to Cove. 4 forests to knock out some culture, and then keep Cove isolated. not sure if plains hill will do that.

I do like the desert hill next to iron in the south... a nice spot with oasis and farmable grass. It can be a good buffer city and *try* to turn the corner on Blue for claiming that yummy Eastern coast.

In both these recommendations, I'm proposing basically "crush zones" cuz if Suttree attacks, cities are going to fall. Just make sure the holy city (and cottages) are as safe as they can be.

Hey, I didn't say that it applied to the current game. But Commodore made the map so -0.5 DEFCON levels and +5 goodie islands.

War between Orange and Blue could be a chance for me to make Blue pay for their aggressive city claim to the east. I may wish to do something that I want advice on considering the "cheese gift" rule. If i go attack blue and actually get one of the two cities to the east, will gifting one of them to Orange be considered a cheese gift? It would be more to my advantage to claim only one of them and could gain a momentary peace with Orange making Blue the main enemy from two of the largest powerhouses in the game at this point. Is this a really dangerous/illegal strategy? Just to have it said, it may be too dangerous since the main cities are to my direct south.

10 turn peace is finished between me and Blue. This may be an opening I want. I have built 1 barracks in Biquintile and training Axemen there that will finish in 2 turns. War may be within 10 turns with Blue. Hoping that Orange is strong enough to stand against Blue, since the possibility that Blue army is to the east, may give me a good possibility to go south.

Oh, so much wartalk. I'm done for now. Tomorrows post will be picture heavy.
