[spoilers]Oh Canada! Victoria has a Commodore, eh?

Whew boy. Okay, this is beginning now. This better work, or else I gave Pindicooter a tech pop for nothing. rant

Here's the sitch. Warrior in position; scout is positioned to draw away their own warrior into a defensive/sniping posture against the nice and juicy scout. Hopefully, this gets them to move. We'll see.

Heh. Scooter just logged in as we were chatting about other stuff:

WHAT

me: Yeah, impressively long loggins.
scooter: i shouldn't comment further via chat, other than say I just logged into the game
Let this be over fast. Please. Dark mood

If it's not over in a few more turns...I just don't know if I can stand it. I'm growing Abydos on a barracks; barbs are coming soon and so getting a woodie II axe might also make it fast, plus, well, Mysticism isn't on the roadmap and I need borders popped.

Brick, again, you know I love you brother in real life, right?

I hate you here so very much. frown

Actually, you should blame me: I told him to randomise the start locations after he finished with the map.

Okay, cool. I hate you sooooo much right now, Krill. Again, for moving us next door, or for not being able to convince more people to spring for giant torusland. Pretty sure laugh/despair/rage mixture is going on right now in the Viking thread.

So, I've got a philosophical question. Would Brick have been justified, as mapmaker, in rerolling until you two were separated, with that as explicit goal? What about just picking one of you and swapping with a player halfway across the map?

And how would that compare to, say, rolling a slate in werewolf and then changing Gaspar to the village side?

Hum, I'm not sure. I did reroll the list in PB11 once because the first time Azza was Rome; not sure how that compares. I'd probably move one of us, it's like how Plako stealth-balances players when he's making a map.

Anyone want a civ? I don't care to do this all over again.

And before someone says "well just be peaceful and hope!" No. Just no. They won't, first of all. And secondly, have you seen my land?

So I got impatient, in the end...should have gone in with axes in 15 turns. Yes, they have near copper, but with surprise, I still could have probably ended it fast. Now, here I am; gimped and hamstrung. Size one capital.

Kurumi, you want to become prime on this?

Okay, assuming my dedlurker is sane and doesn't want to take over the gimped crapland with the size one capital, I'm going to try and get back into the headspace of PB5. Krill was obviously going to win from the start, so it was relaxing, and once I got crippled and stuck in my craphole it was obvious I wouldn't even place. Then, I was able to relax, grow, optimize, punish the guy who screwed with me, and tell stories.

I've been in contention to win every game since PBEM 32. Screw that, obviously Plako or Pindicooter will be winning here with their starts/popped techs/combos. Just stop worrying about it and find my happy place. nod

...it'll be easier, clearly, in 15. wink

You know I'm not actually sure the land you've uncovered here is strictly worse than what I had in PB5.
