Yeah, Tithe outclasses Church Property, oh well on that one. Not a big difference though.
And we lurkers had no idea about Serdoa's religion, thanks for that report. In fact I'd forgotten Serdoa was even in this game, heh.

According to the tooltip of Guruship, you should only be getting the 2h from the first specialist. It says "if the city has a specialist."

I wish you would have not contacted Serdoa in order to read the fallout in the tech thread... From the power-gaming viewpoint that is the best move in order to make Serdoa waste as much production as possible. But we are all different.

Yeah, I managed to outthink myself with this one.....

It is only 2h for the first specialist, I should have worded my report better to make that more clear.
Serdoa responded saying he's not building the Pyramids? My wonder-under-construction skills are lacking these days it seems, lol. Looking at the picture again, it's clearly the Terracotta Army, not the Pyramids.

Turn 80
Found yet another city-state near the Siamese Empire, Valletta. Given that it grants longbowmen, I'm very surprised Ichabod and Azza aren't fighting over it.
Valletta and Monaco currently have "Whoever can produce the most culture in 20 turns contests" running, however, I cannot compete in either, as I'm late to the party and someone is dramatically outproducing me in culture to begin with. Rio just announced its own this turn, and I'm hoping the cultural giants to the east have not met it so I can coast to an easy victory.
I think I'm going to queue up a settler in Asgard after the National College completes next turn, and found a city on the truffles south of the mountain range. The city will be happiness neutral since I don't actually have any truffles at the moment. More importantly though, it will make my northern border invasion proof.
With a pike (and later a fort) on the sheep tile and a compositive bowman (upgraded from the archer) northeast of the city, it will be basically impossible for Jowy to batter his way through. I'll use my warrior as a picket for the eastern passes, and hopefully, with those precautions taken, will never have to build any more military until I actually want to.
End Turn.

Turn 81
Quiet turn. Finished the National College and got my research boost. Finishing Education + Acoustics in 9 turns. The next social policy falls in 10 turns. Actually a little later than that since I'm founding a fifth city in that time frame.
Azza built the Great Mosque of Djenne, and Serdoa finished the Terracotta Army. Still no war over in the east. .
End Turn.

So are you planning to work jungle tiles for science once Asgard has a university? I'm never sure whether that's worthwhile, compared to tiles with more hard factors of production, or specialists for GPP.

The only jungle tiles that will be staying are the jungled grasslands/plains not adjacent to one of the rivers. I'll eventually stick trading posts in each one, and combined with policy in rationalism, each will produce 2 food/1 gold/3 science. That's better than anything else they could produce, at least until fertilizer. As for the other jungled tiles. The hills are too important for mining, since I have so little production. The riverside jungle tiles are all more valuable farmed than jungled with the university bonus. My specialists will soon be producing 4 extra science (Korean UA plus Rationalism Policy) in addition to their base, and the food conversion of from the farms into that is more efficient I feel than leaving the jungles up.
I don't have time to write up a full post as I'm on the road, but I played Turn 81, and Ichabod declared war on Azza. Wish I could see what's going on over there

Turn 84
So, next turn, my road and settler finish so that I'll be able to move my settler and pike directly onto the truffles tile (and my archer 1 tile northeast).
I'm going to need to make up my mind if I want to declare war on Jowy to secure the better city spot 1nw and remove his comp bow with my archer and pike, or settle the sub-par location. Probably the former. Hopefully Jowy will withdraw the comp bow and make things easier on both of us.
I now have a very strong crop yield, although my production and gold numbers are still very sub-par. However, long-term that food will translate into better numbers in all departments, right now, I'm mainly waiting on getting some ampitheaters and universities up.
Note that Jowy has the best numbers in gold and production, I sense he will be leveraging all that into camel archers very soon. However, with my new city, I will be largely immune to attack. I will however need to deal with my oncoming happiness crunch very soon. There will be a round of colosseums and circuses coming out after the current round of infrastructure.
And I now humbly present you, the first live photos of the great war in the east:
The salt mines of Whiterun are ablaze.
Azza actually accepted an OB for OB deal with me for some reason, now I get to sate my curiousity and see what's going on over there. Perhaps a little sub-par, as my scout could be mapping out the lanes south of Azza and looking for the final city-state. However, I just really want to see whats going on and since nobody else is reporting, this will be the only way I find out.
End Turn.
