well this is a PITA. maybe why Krill hadn't played his turn yet.

best guess is something between cornflakes and 2metra.. mostly process of elimination, but also 2metra gave cornflakes rifling for sci method, after turning me down a couple of times, which seems strange.

I guess it could also be Krill not understanding the rules (since he only took over for AT recently). I doubt it has anything to do w/ Jowy or Commodore.

oops. well that did almost nothing. it removed the 20% cultural defense, but I can't attack without sending cannons in. woulda been nice if a lurker had informed me I misunderstood how the cultural overlay worked.

so thats 630 EPs or so wasted. I really am not going to be able to push until I have bombers, Im afraid. certainly not while I am technologically inforior, militarily speaking, to everyone except Jowy (no grenadiers, curaissers, or rifles). I have cannons and a horde of 2 movers so I can defend myself adequately, but can't get too agressive for now.

so if there's no reload cornflakes has rifling. if I can't get rifling from 2 metra I'll have to research it, and quickly - before physics frown. it will take 3.5 turns, no biggie. I have a 70% breakeven rate now w/ state property, which helps.

11 turns until SOL completes, which will help more. then there's this:

hate to b uild it here, but its the only city I'll have a prayer. I have 5 workers in the area to turn those last 2 farms into workshops, 1 next turn, 1 the next, hoping that will cut kremlin to 5 turns. cornflakes is IND, 3 more turns of golden age, and had 2 turns head start. But he doesnt have stone and I do, and im hoping he didn't rush. more than likely I'll just get failgold, which is ok too.

current civics. 5-6 turns I'll switch to slavery, possibly even whip SOL early, so landing kremlin would be nice. also have a lot of economic builds im getting impatient on.

ok so the 2metra cornflakes sci method/rifling trade didn't go through on the reload, I guess thats what the hub hub was about. although I can't figure out what happenned, really. oh well.

The research breakthrough was nice, 80% of a turn at 100% research.

ok, so cornflakes golden age is coming to an end, so these are the civs he's settled on. he's didn't revolt to slavery (stayed in caste) or US so I have to assume he's not making a serious run at Kremlin. good.

More confusing is why he switched to hereditary rule as he is researching biology. I guess he's planning a heavy drafting spree once his GA ends, but he doesnt have rifling yet or

I rushed 6 workers over here, stopping other jobs, to workshop the northern farm in one turn. this puts me at 795/800 hammers in 4 turns. so im going workshop corn for a turn then turn it back to a workshop. I think shaving a turn off kremlin here is worth it, i've got no shortage of workers anyway.

oh,I sold communism to Jowy, if you were wondering about his revolt. I think he'd be better off w/ free market, given his size, but im not sure he has access to that - he's been running the default economic civic all game.

well apparently pb9 doesnt get turns played on weekends frown most disappointing as I end up hoping it will roll all weekend. this time Krill was the culprit, but its not always him. sigh.

anyway, time to dump my pictures:

ok this was just after the reload. cornflakes had 1150ish gold the previous turn, so he had gold turned off. but you can barely see if you strain your eyes that he still has 118ish turns to go on biology. so im guessing he put 100% into EP here (i'll next turn from graphs, I guess). it wasn't into me, I think when he saw I was willing to dump EPs back into him he stopped that, hehe. im guessing he dumped them into 2metra with the intention of stealing rifling.

Now they did end up trading (rifling for sci method) - after this picture. but thats probably how im going to end up getting it. physics takes 6-7 turns, by then Ill have 5-6 spies on the border city just hanging out to get the -50% stationary bonus. ponce phsyics comes I can turn on espionage (2 turns of 100% science will support 5 and a half turns of 100% espionage right now). I can produce 850 espionage a turn, and rifling cost 2400 (1200 with the stationary bonus), so basically less than 1.5 turns of espionage is enough to steal it. so I plan on stealing rifling, military arts, and steam power this way (2metra just turned on research and is 5 turns away from steam power). mmaybe military arts, but I don't really need grenadiers or even a military academy at this point.

What is the diplomatic picture looking like? I'm surprised noone has tried it on with us while we are in almost eternal war with Krill which pins down a substantial amount of our forces.

Well I'm paranoid of that always. Fortunately the only threat is cornflakes. We have 98% the power he does, and both if us are well ahead of anyone else. Ill power Graphs when I can login again. Lucky the krill border is right next to the cornflakes border, so I have about 80% of our military there. If cornflakes he's frisky, ill make him go into our territory, then give up a city to krill for peace and slaughter cornflakes troops. It probably wouldn't be smart for him to declare war atm, whoever is aggressive will lose. 2meta has too small a border and a smaller army, Joey has too few cities to build an offensive army and mostly has to worry about commodore invading again, and we don't share a border w commodore.

before either me or cornflakes have drafed. 4 muskateers represents about 50k soldiers. cornflakes golden age is now over. he did pop a great prophet, hopefully he can't launch another anytime soon.

both me and cornflakes are drafting and growing our military, while jowy, commodore, and 2 metra aren't, really, so I expect our edge to keep growing over the field. cornflakes has passed 2metra for #2 in score, and we have a pretty serious cold war. our mutual military build up keeps us from going to war, but also keeps us from declaring in other directions, for fear of the other taking advantage.

edit: I lost research visibility on 2metra, and vision on all but 2-3 cities. getting a little paranoid, so I put 50% ep's into him. I was going to be doing that in 6-7 turns anyway, doing it now gives me vision one every one of his cities and "investigate city" on about half of them, so I can keep a better eye on what he's doing.
