RBP2 (Realms Beyond Pitboss) Planning Thread

All civs will have contact via land or galley, and no isolated civs? Landmass type depends on what the rest say, so I can't unilaterally comment.

Comment to the rest of hte map making team, I will be on msn and in the gmail account for hte RBPB1 game for as much of tomorrow as possible to try and start the map making business, talk as much as you want. I've already given the map making a fair amount of thought, just need your comments on the ideas.

I would be interested in a map that is somewhat similar to Sulla's old RB Pitboss map, with lakes, mountains, etc. but with maybe an extra food resource here and there.

Why not just take the chance. In the first pitboss the rushers kind of got burned but if they knew the distance they wouldnt have chose them. Part of the risk and without huts and events it is good to have some luck and randomness smile

Well, when committing to a game that may take six months to play, I'd prefer that the Civ I take not be useless on turn 0. wink

Yeah, I think we should know a little bit about the map, and what the general geography will be like.

I personally don't care how much or little information we get. I would think something like what we might otherwise know from a traditional game (size, sea level) etc...though specific map script should be not be disclosed. I would like to know if there was anything completely removed from the map on purpose though as that might affect my choice of civ/leader.

So am I correct that the consensus seems to be not picking one's civ/leader until the map's been finalized, and waiting for what information is going to be released by Krill et al. is released? I've generated the list of 10 civs (thanks for the random.org link), but it's sequestered until the consensus is "go".

I was under the impression that the map would be somewhat like RBP1. I don't really feel like playing an isolated start map where we meet our enemies after playing for a year! smoke

Enemies, huh?
Not neighbours, potential brothers in arms and faith? Or trading partners?

Well, seems indeed like Toku is taken.
I'd like to know a bit about the map (water proximity etc) but not to much.
Things should be a bit of a surprise.
