Our team has also undergone re-organization - it is now "Margarita without the Master" or just "Margarita". Lurkers help would be very welcome, especially that I am firmly in an inexperienced category, this is my 2nd MP game and in the first one I was only subbing in later stages.

Ensure that port 2058 is forwarded in your router to your computer, Maga, as well as checking the internal firewall of Windows as Arki specifies above. It might not work, but it should theoretically do the trick. Civ4 is tricky like this...

Hmm, I keep getting "firewall settings" message and I am still not able to log in to a game when anybody is in. So I finally researched the problem and firewalls both on my Windows Virtual Machine and Mac laptop are completely off (which is likely not a great idea, btw). So what is wrong? And is port 2058 open + Civ as exception still the answer?

Last 1-2 weeks i can never log in when somebody is in and vice versa so it must be something wrong on my side .

The port you need to open is 2056. That is the default port for Civilization.
