Krill has better neighbors this game than in the games where people sat by as he ran away.

My take on it is, Krill now has one neighbor who's going to be only a small pain, and several other players have effectively one fewer neighbor. The map is toroidal and small so it shouldn't actually help Krill on average. But we'll see, it depends on what Commodore decides to do.

Krill does seem to be at the top of his game here and is doing really well. If he continues to do well, I wouldn't attribute it to Commodore's setback.

Of course he could only set back Comm because he was doing well. But this setting back makes it easier for Krill to do well in the future too.

I think you're still missing my point. Hurting comm does not appreciably help Krill in relation to non-comm players.

I'd suggest a holy city on his border would have hurt Krill relative to everyone, so the warrior was a good exchange for a stronger border there and slightly improves his relative position.

Although as you say Commodore's reaction is the real question. It's probably in Comm's interest to throw everything at Krill now to make sure he doesn't win, and discourage anyone from crossing him in future. If he does that then perhaps it was a bad move. Do any seasoned Commodore-watchers know what he'll do?

He'll probably build up for a while because he can't really wreck krill with just one city. So builder for a while and then try HULK SMASH.

Commodore will be aggressive. Whether or not he was hit first wink. If anything, Krill probably made himself safer, because when it comes to Commodore, it's a question of capabilities, not intentions.

Commodore's been trying to make himself slightly less kneejerk aggressive, but I'm not sure how well that's working. Even if he does moderate, he's definitely well above average in aggression.

As Xenu says, he'll still try to win, so he won't go for 100% military while he can still get good returns from buildering. But he will attack sooner or later. Probably sooner.

If Krill wins its the fast second Worker and choosing IMP to begin with.

Remember kids, city count is not everything. A bunch of size 1 cities isn't going to help your growth curve down the line, as Ichabod found out in 45v. wink
