RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Peter of Byzantium

Exactly.

I'll say this...if we do go Option 4 I prefer to sling Metal Casting instead of Feudalism. I can't see us waiting until turn 70 or 80 to expose a strategic resource. We can send our first Worker with the Settler and chop The Oracle out at city 2, squeeze a few Workers out at Athens while researching Pottery -> Animal Husbandry, and pre-chop some forests to get a fast Forge online after Metal Casting comes in. We sacrifice less in terms of expansion and security than trying to grab Feudalism, and we don't have to worry about a Great Prophet mucking up our lightbulb strategy.

The Oracle is 150 Hammers and a Monument is another 30. Once we have a second city site we can sim out how long it would take to complete The Oracle and determine if it makes sense to try. It would help if the second site is fed by grain instead of meat smile.

Well if we want to keep Option 4 as an option, then we're kind of favoring Option 1 over Option 2 (basically mining first instead of hunting).

Otherwise we're going to have to make a decision on T9, which is probably earlier than we'll have a 2nd city site identified.

I think it makes sense to follow the green path, given the river there - this could be our next city - 1E of the rice on the river, if there is hopefully another resource on the other side of the river.

It still puts us in good shape at Turn 8 to either divert back to the capital or go around the south of the lake.

The only demographic change was that Athlete (the only creative civ) had his capital borders expand - from 7000 land to 15000 signifying 15 land tiles in his BFC

How about we go 1S next instead. 1S onto the grass hill reveals just as many tiles, right?

2nd this. That site looks really nice, I hope we have food or seafood on the east side. A lack of forests make the Oracle less attractive (can you tell I don't want the Oracle?).

Okay - I can move 1S onto the grass hill. Do you still think it makes sense to go on the other grass hill (the one with the 5 on it)? Or should we continue the original plan to go S-SW onto the plains hill SW of the incense?

Lets see what the land looks like IMHO. But I probably like moving to the 2nd grass hill next.

It would expose all but two tiles of our candidate site, however it also puts us five moves from the capital with visibility only 2 tiles in the west still.

I'd like to move to that other grass hill before circling back. Our borders will expand at the start of T6 so we'll get some more visibility.

No new demographics news. T6 we'll have everyone's borders popping for land points, and T7 we'll have Sullla and LiPing's borders expanding, as well as the first techs (for people that went for fishing or hunting first)

I have to say despite the snow on the trees and the Crab, we are certainly blessed with plenty of Grassland tiles. Rice is usually equatorial, so obviously some map edits have been made to balance things out.

I'm okay with moving to the Grassland Hill, but if our borders pop and we see a Warrior we'll be depending on the kindness of strangers lol.
