Turn 086

Checking in with our galley out west:

Suttree didn't accept our map trade unfortunately. As usual with these types of things, I am tempted to offer it a second time, just because it's easy for something to glitch with pitboss. Out east, the land mass is pretty bizarre actually:

Look how straight that thing is. Kinda strange, but B&S has a knack for strange. Anyway, I keep hoping this thing will branch out east so that circumnav is possible, but it's looking like a possible dead end. We've decided to shift gears a little bit. We're going to whip the capital (it has unhappy faces) to overflow into GLH. We'll slow build it. I think we're generally unlikely to get it, but if we get it, awesome, it'll be great for all these island locations. If not, that's some fail gold that will speed up our MoM completion date by getting Calendar for us sooner. I do wish we had known about all these islands sooner, because GLH would have been a lot more appealing in that case. Given that I was on the "delay the galleys a bit longer" train, I get a smoke for that. Anyway, marble site was founded:

We didn't have any current city name requests, so Portland's MLS team name seemed very appropriate given the surrounding forests smile. Apparently asking for city names by post count is a lost cause, so we're going to change things a bit. Lurkers: if you have a favorite team OR a team name that seems especially appropriate for a given spot, post away.

So we immediately chop Monument of course. As soon as borders pop, we hook the marble and hopefully finish it almost immediately - or as close as possible. I think T100 is our rough target date. I'm actually not extremely optimistic about it still being there by then, but we have a chance. Something interesting:

That's a nice food spike by Azza. The more noteworthy thing to me is that while we're listed as 3rd here, we're 4th overall in food. Clearly the other continent(s) is quite a bit behind our continent. Huh, so all the good competition is around us, and Plako is out there somewhere surrounded by struggling inexperienced players. This really is PB8 all over again. bang

This war is super inevitable right? We can only hope. Lewwyn's going to need someone to keep him in check:

Yikes. Academy will do that. With the founding of Timbers, we are tied at 7 cities with Lewwyn and Azza.

Whenever it's appropriate, I'd like to see the Boilermakers.

About that.

Well you already have tigers so I have nothing else of note to suggest really. Chargers would be cool though I guess.

I would have made a suggestion if I thought it was my turn. Gators, and I guess you should put my city in the thickest part of the jungle. Preferably on a hill since the city will clearly only ever be good at defense.

Offtopic: Pindicator, I'll be making a visit to the Pacific northwest in a few weeks, got any sightseeing recommendations for stuff that's not in the typical tourist guidebook? I'll be in and out of Seattle, but travelling for sure through northern Oregon and western Washington. Not sure if I'll have enough time to go into BC or not. Current itinerary includes the regional national parks (if the f$#*!ng government will OPEN them up again....banghead ), driving through state parks, hiking around, that kind of stuff. Wife probably can't be talked into a OSU game (though I DO need to figure out where I'll watch the Florida-Georgia game. It won't do to be out on a hiking trail when I should be elbow deep in hot wings). Anyway, any suggestions will be helpful. [/threadjack]

If you have a spot that taunts you like it might be good, but you know that it will inevitably disappoint you, I nominate "Browns"

So you're thinking whichever city is most likely to be captured and moved to Baltimore by Commodore, right?

Or if you have a spot that has a world class tile for awhile and then gives it to another city so it can build a few wonders, I suggest 'Cavs'
