[Spoiler] RB Pitboss #2 - Shaka of Rome

...I think you should have taken the 70% chance of killing that warrior tbh. If you are getting pissed off with their diplo then tell them that to their face, because it isn't worth putting up with that shit in a game. Either way you wouldn;t have to deal with them if you decided to keep up the war with them until one of you was dead.

I think there's a misunderstanding, I would have too, had it gone onto any flatland tile, but I didn't get one, they chose to retreat their warrior SW across the river, into the forested silk, so I couldn't do it.

Doesn't mean you have to agree to anything they want. Shadow their warrior with yours while staying goal side and they can't screw with you. They are still going to have to deal with the preats one way or another, assuming you can settle iron.

True, but I don't really feel I gave them anything they wanted that's useful to them, and I feel like I got something which was of some use to me out of it, so it still seems to be OK, I think I might actually be able to deal with them in a less self damaging way like this, but you have better experience behind it, so I'm probably missing some thought and my evaluation is off. I think it's likely going to take around 60 turns to get hunting, agriculture, bronze working, iron working, wheel, settle, hook the iron and build stuff anyway (I'm assuming Iron will likely be back at the original starting spot, or failing that, on that stupid looking little island, in which case I'm hosed and it doesn't matter.), with this not-really-useful agreement, there's now some disincentive to them now doing something irritating to me like going archery, putting out a bunch of guys and dumping them on my doorstep.

When you piss someone off in a SP game you get the Doo-dar "Refuses to talk" screen!

Send that next time they contact you until you are ready to talk again! lol

You have my full sympathies.
Although, I think even an Always War game will have diplomacy going on I believe?

That aside, I like to join the chorus, that your thread is top of my list to lurk for this game.

I sent a short message to Mortius explaining the details of the Korea thingy.

Hi LiPing,

For me it is not important whether our NAP will formally last until turn 200 or more. You can put whatever number you want here. As I said, I hope to cooperate throughout the entire game. I personally do not care about winning but on fun with the game itself.
I only hope that I am not on some kind of peninsula cut off from the rest of the players by your territory smile

In fact, calculating the production I did not take into account the plains deer. Probably because normally there is not a single resource that would give more food and hammers than 3 together. Plains deer had to be added manually. Just like some other resources, which I’ve just noticed, for example plains fur. I see that the map is heavily edited. Probably due to this none of the expansive civs have a plain forested hill. I'm beginning to wonder what a surprise, mapmakers got ready for aggressive civs. Probably no copper for me, and no iron for you smile Well, we'll see.

Congratulations on resolving the conflict with Korea. 60 turns NAP is not bad. You will have enough time to mass-produce praetorians smile But there is one thing I don’t understand, who declared war and why?

BTW. The last email I forgot to tell you two things:

Firstly, my capital is 2E-11NE of yours.

Secondly, it seems to me that we should keep our alliance in secret. If others will be aware that we cooperate closely, we would have a punitive expedition at our borders smile

Hi Mortius,

Then, we are thinking along the same lines, and there should be no problem smile

I do think we will at the least, all have iron, unless there is some big trick, this is, after all, a designed map smile

Korea declared, but it was as a result of negotiation with them, I became so frustrated that I felt I couldn't stand talking anymore, so I said, forget it, they could just move NE if they wanted the 68% battle, DoW and offer peace on the same turn if they wanted the NAP, and do neither if they did not want any deal at all, that way I would be able to tell what they wanted when I logged in. Also, I wanted the 10T guarantee because Korea posted a spoiler about what they thought of me in the wrong thread, and unfortunately, I saw it, so with their warrior this close, I thought it would be a sensible guarantee for me to have, in case they were getting any ideas.

The secrecy makes sense to me, so I am in agreement.

IT has been posted a few times, by a few people so i'm sure this wouldn't classify as spoiler information.

The starts were all re-randomised. No particular start was balanced around any particular player or civ. Nor was it planned for the two aggressive civ's to be next to each other. The beast that is RNG decided that for itself. smile

Well, it is Mortius's theory, not mine, my job is just to post all the things people write to me, whether I agree or not, and whether correct or not tongue

yeah i see that, but was just trying to kill the theory dead in your mind at least.
