Nothing like the Prodigal Sons: The Odd Couple actually play as themselves.

Or just replay from t0.
I have to run.

I considered this but didn't want to sift through this spammed to hell thread to see where tiles were each time after I had already done it to put the map together in the sandbox. Too lazy to do it twice and didn't think to do both at the same time when building the map. That would have taken the map build longer anyway, which I didn't have time for.

I am not a Yankees fan, they can go to hell for the sin of beating the Atlanta Braves in a couple of World Series back in the 90s. I offered up my services (in a drunken haze) to whoever wanted a ded-lurker and Noble responded first. I'm glad to be on this team because, excepting Seven's team, I'm likely to learn more from this group than anyone else in the game. I may not comprehend what Seven has to say. He's more of a doctoral level course and I'm not quite into the Civ Master's program.

Also, these guys are fun in an Abbot and Costello sort of way, and I do enjoy a spammy thread. With that in mind:

The same could be said of your performance in PB11. wink You will recall that I had set up a sandbox/micro sheet for us in that game that you obstinately refused to use. Certainly that would have improved our game. At least you play the turns (so I don't have to) most of the time. cool

Gaspar's working a lot is more like it. Worth noting you both have the password. tongue

Current values as of EOT16:

Food 12/22
Hammers 4/15
Beakers 28/123

I actually played turn 17, revealing nothing useful in that valley, but the report will have to wait a bit.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Apparently I built the city on T1 (3960) in the sandbox, not T0. I'm not sure how that happened. That explains why I was having a hard time getting things to line up without some tinkering. I should have checked top cities to figure that out. smoke

PB16 - EoT 16:

Food 12/22
Hammers 4/15
Beakers 28/123

SIM

Food 12/22
Hammers 4/15
Beakers 27/123
culture 36/100

I added a village under the city and will keep for T17 in the sim. After that it should be good. If you can verify that the culture value above is right then we'll have an accurate sandbox and I'll post it after your turn report. I'll try to keep this updated every few turns going forward.

t17 - Just a scrappy kid in a ballcap

Remind me not to watch Raw even with copious fast forward on DVR. It just makes me angry.

Anyway... turn was pretty mundane. Scout movement revealed little (I did make the appropriate W-S move, Noble.)

NE-SE next? Or do we want to just go SE to get vision on the water before cap pops 3rd ring?

Wheat farm completed, so hurrah for that. Current plan has us lighting the next couple worker turns on fire and heading to camp the ivory without roads which seems so horrendously suboptimal until you see how long we have to wait for a 3rd improved tile without doing so. I'm not even sure novice could get this steaming pile off to a fast start. [15]

Scout: NE/SE next. We can send the warrior to investigate the lake without too much danger by playing late in the turn. We can't be hit out of the fog on any diagonal, so any approaching enemy would need 3 turns after we can see it to take our empty capital. The PH is only 3 moves away, so I think that's safe enough.

Sandbox. You may want to just edit it into your initial post.

Take a quick look and make sure I didn't miss anything crazy. I'm going to try to work through micro but I'm not sure I'll come up with an approach that will end up wasting fewer worker turns. The instant tradeoff appears to be 2h for 2 worker turns but do we have four worker turns to road both without holding something else up? As far as worker labor goes, we would move to the hill and road2 (T18-20), then move to the ivory (21), camp (T25), road (T27). We can begin with cottages on T25, so yeah. Probably not worth it. I'll mess around some and see what I can come up with.

Well, once our scout moves, the NE is more vulnerable on the diagonal, but our warrior would be there anyway. I'm trying to preempt being Nobled, and it's making me examine in more depth than I ordinarily would. This is why I wanted to lurk this team rather than another team around my skill level.
