To expand on this a bit; these guys are awesome, and shouldn't be lumped with the PB14'ers at all- besides Yossarian nobody in that mess is reporting anything with an actual focus on, well, reporting. These guys are newbies, sure, but I like the cuts of their collective jibs.

There are a few that turned out a bit isolated in the islands. Its a Big & Small map, I improved it so they were balanced, but I didn't remake the starts.

If I had Gav's start, I'd be thinking 'mids, not first Colossus...

Exactly, lots of food, not much commerce. Or the Great Lighthouse, but not leaping to Colossus.

It's interesting to see Furungy's development and he seems to already understand many important concepts, but his dot-mapping does not really make much sense so far..

The Hague? Really? Trading wet wheat for three ocean tiles.
I still unbashedly love this little game. They seem to have a phenomenal turn pace too.

Sure, but that plant is still valid even if Hague would have been 1 tile east. 5/1 tile available in the 2nd ring of the 3rd city is better than in the 2nd ring of the 4th/5th city.. Or would you have settled Hague where it currently is?

Ow. I kind of had been mentally just assuming they were playing on Epic speed based on levels of development.
