wow! that's some tech rate! even at 100% that's impressive. did that tech cost get reduced?

Also love the relocated teams idea, maybe extend it to Dodgers and Sonics (cant call them Thunder!)

Engineering is the same cost as Guilds IIRC, is it around 1500 beakers on this map?

Sounds about right. Our tech rate is just really strong. Darius owns on this map.

The Calgary Flames were also relocated (from Atlanta) and Flames might be a good descriptor for what's happening here. smile

Oh, I like that thumbsup. And yeah, Atlanta has quite a track record for getting hockey teams relocated elsewhere.

Love the name ideas guys! thumbsup

Yeah, scooter and I briefly chatted about the tech rate earlier.  Every time we try to estimate what it is going to be, we both end up being wildly under what the rate was.  Right now we're at around 300bpt at breakeven and 500bpt / -195gpt at max tax.  Engineering costs 1610 beakers on this map, so we'd need about 450 raw beakers to get that in 3 turns.  And thanks to the capture gold we got last turn we'll just have enough to burn through it all in 3 turns, although we may need a wealth build or a little more capture gold.  I'm guessing we'll be able to get the capture gold.

We have tech visibility on Fintourist.  He just finished Civil Service and is starting on Machinery.  We are quite a ways ahead of him, and he's probably one of the better teching civs in the game right now.  Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Commodore is right up with us.  He's played a strong econ game so far.

Scooter, since we're going to finish Engineering in 3 turns, what do you think is the better follow-up?  Aesth (483) & Lit (322) to build Heroic (note: still need to get a unit to 10xp), or Optics?  Aesthetics & Literature should both be 1-turn techs.  Optics will take 3 turns at break-even, or 2 at max tax.  I think it depends how our unit experience is.  If we get a unit to 10xp or get a Great General by the time that Engineering finishes then let's go for Literature and unlock HE.  Otherwise let's get Optics so Boilermakers can start on some caravels.

Turn 143

I know everyone wants to get right to the action, so instead here's a picture of our workers being chopped out at Big East Island neenerneener

[Image: pb13%20-%20turn143%20-%20big%20east%20workers.jpg]

The galley in the picture moved 1S this turn. Next turn our chopping worker will move along the orange line to board the galley and head to Seahawks. I think the last galley was supposed to go to Seahawks.... ooops, I sent it to Lions & Packers. That island is looking good: once it's next worker finishes in 2 turns it will have 4 to improve the island. I think we'll just want a couple more out of Valiants for now: 1 more for Wolverines and 2 more for Big East island.

The war part was pretty straight forward. I moved our troops up and we have a real chance of taking Nakor's capital as well as Caldara next turn. Remember, there are 2 archers and a warrior inside the capital and 1 archer in Caldara.

[Image: pb13%20-%20turn143%20-%20nakor%20cap.jpg]

With all our units moving forward, we have an opportunity to hit Smoke Spiral next turn. It may be worth waiting for a catapult, though; especially if Nakor continues to stuff units inside. But we will have 6 knights in range of hitting that city on t144. And more knights finish in the capital and Red Wings at eot 145.

[Image: pb13%20-%20turn143%20-%20nakor%20center.jpg]

Now, either I forgot to take screenshots of the worker actions in our core and the zerker actions on Nakor's shores, or they just didn't take for some reason. With the workers, I had all the workers by Bulldogs try to get a road to 49ers; I also moved an axe from Bulldogs towards 49ers and it will be able to join the city next turn. With the zerkers, I kept our 2 inside the city because there is a praet outside. I thought about attacking it, but I don't want to lose the city to mounted units waiting in the shadows. I also didn't promote the wounded zerker, though maybe I should have set him to C2 or even Medic. (Note to self: get a Medic promo zerker to help heal while on boats.)

Then I hit enter, the turn rolled.... and no new units appeared for Nakor

Commodore did get a Great Scientist at eot. And it's mackoti's graphs that are scary, not Commodore's. Mackoti's been focusing on courthouses (EP graph rising), and i think after this war that's what we should focus on as well.

So the Roman spear that was 1W of Red Spring went NW... the exact opposite direction of all your horsies? nice for you!

And in your last shot I think I see the galleys moving south around the horn. How many zerks are on board?

Yeah, I'm not sure what Nakor's planning, but he did only spend 7 minutes on the turn.
We have 4 zerkers on board; sadly because somebody ( mischief )forgot that you need a trading post to get Nav-1 on your galleys we had to chain forward the 2 healthy zerkers which left only the injured ones (~50% odds) to attack his axe.

Saw that ending, scooter. Ouch, that's a tough loss
