Nothing like the Prodigal Sons: The Odd Couple actually play as themselves.

Jumped on real quick to get the updated power graph. Won't play because we've been trying to play after Gavagai to ensure we'd get the second half of a turn split if something happens. Two things:

Perhaps the whip was a building and not a unit? That small spike and crash looks like it could just be pop power?

Secondly - our warrior friend has returned. I think I'm sold on an Axeman.

Finally (really annoyed we dropped to like 7th in the list the other day)...

I discussed dotmapping. Here's a map composite if anyone wants to take a bash at it. The biggest downside to PBEM vs. PB is its way too much of a pain in the ass to remove Noble's 4693036 signs to give you a clean copy, so you have his proposed dotmap there. I'll leave this up and once at least two people have constructively commented on it, I'll add my thoughts and Noble's thoughts from our discussion as well as some alternatives. Warning - as all composites are, this is a huge image so its both spoilered and in a screenshot tag.

t46 - All the interesting stuff is above

Nothing really to add to what I've stated already. Gavagai retreated his warrior again when he played. He's definitely building a foodhammer unit right now, so I expect to see a plant there soon. When the tale of this game is sung, I'd guess he'll regret waiting to settle towards us until City 4. Time will tell, though.

Anyway, here's demos:

Updated sandbox. I just updated the cities and worker micro up through what I could confirm last turn. I'll add in the new landscape later on when I have more time, probably on Monday.

Civstats for this turn shows that Seven apparently captured and razed a city. Or, he founded a city and immediately whipped another city and did it super fast to mess with enemy C&D. That is all.

It seems unlikely that 7 would have a second ancient Patsy to pick on hopefully its just a settler and a whip. If it was a capture another civ would have lost points

Yeah nobody lost points so it was either a razed barb city or just a whip.

Lame report is lame, sorry. Though nobody's commented on the dotmap, so not that sorry. Biggest news of the turn was the return of Warrior G. Mysticism is in at EOT. Still no religions/wonders/first to's, fwiw. Still no new neighbor, though we know they're here somewhere.

Doesn't look like we're going to be able to move the warrior.

Nothing else happened, but I didn't finish the turn.

I'll be around after the match.

Do you think that we looked more dangerous offensively with Walcott as a striker? The last games I haven't felt that Giroud has been much of a threat, except when he gets a nice flick or something of the sort. Overall I thought we moved the ball faster in the direction of goal, but that might also be due to Tottenham playing with only two central midfielders against our three.
Fie, fie! you visionary things.

I thought it was tactics more than anything. Wenger is sort of loathe to change key personnel to deal with specific opposition but Walcott is definitely the right striker against a team that plays a high line and has positioning issues from the defenders. I didn't actually think he played all that well, but that's the beauty in his skillset - he doesn't have to.

I think Giroud is right more often than Walcott, but I agree we've looked pretty limp with him lately. I don't know if that's fatigue or loss of form, but I shudder to think how many goals this team could score with an Henry or RVP up front. Hopefully we'll get to find out next season.
