Well, ironically, it looks like the "Ham 'n' Pineapple Pizza" debate might be healthy for my post count.

You've got to hook them in with top quality puns ![]() Anyway to the turn. I now have two contacts, BaII and Zanth. Zanth has met someone else, indicated by our EP disparity, probably a while ago considering he's now focussing them all on me. His fellow contact isn't BaII because FriendWeb doesn't show a white line between them. Now onto the big discussion (whine) of the turn. BaII's land. That's a Revengeofthesheep warrior, not a scout. So either he's gone pretty scouting heavy early OR that badboy is preparing for a second city. Look at that land past him, grassland and trees. NOT thick rainforest! Now, I'm going to completely ignore the fact that I haven't seen anything else about his land, and the observation that the area is vaguely reminiscent of where my own second city is going to go, and WHHHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEE. ![]() In other news I'll have a warrior to call my very own next turn. Isn't that nice?
When this game is over and you guys see the map creation discussion you'll have approximately 0.15211586991 seconds of remorse for all the abuse you gave your poor mapmaker. I think next time I'll roll a map, hold it for a week saying I'm working on it, then ship it as the script gave it to me. OK, except I'll add jungle all over the place first....

Hey no one ever plays Aztec anyway, I'm trying to bring them back into the fold.
Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon The mysterious borders of BaII. I'm hoping I'll be able to scoot around his southern edge, if not my scout has a long trudge back to usefulness. Warrior completed, needed to grow so I'm putting a turn into another one. Edit- Having looked again, the northern edge also houses promise of escape.
If there is some kind of corn in these parts then BaII has him a hell of a city site.
I'm going to fiddle with my micro a bit. I'm going to put some production in two turns, then 2whip the settler for max overflow hammers. Guttingly, (and probably avoidably if I'd actually y'know sandboxed), this gets the worker to 59/60 hammers when I put the overflow in at size two. I may put two turns production into the worker at size 4 so I can maximise my output when not growing. Actually, I'll definitely do that. Also gives me some cool food into hammers overflow. Having looked at the game I've figured out my big mistake. I should have mined the plains hill next to my capital, that would have got an extra hammer to unlock the expansive bonus (currently I have 7 hammers for +1 extra hammer. 8 would put it up to +2). It also would have freed up a worker turn because I could move directly to the forest where I want to road. That's why you shouldn't wing it kids. Or I shouldn't wing it, anyway. This is why you don't wing it kids. Or why I probably shouldn't wing it. |
