Lost a bit more than I think would have been expected value. Nothing major though. Not getting Shakuras hurts most (lost 90% fight there to kill that axe). There surely comes an Lbow and maybe something else there next turn. Also lost Knights and won with lesser units that also is bad.

Shakuras captured without further losses. Now it starts to get tricky. Dhalphir's main forces are coming from the north.

I can imagine the next post in Dhal's thread must go something like.... "MY LIFE FOR AIUR!"

Mediocore. He has done what he can with the troop positioning in the beginning. But that was probably his biggest mistake. He stored his main force in the central city for a far too long and didn't move it towards south despite of it being pretty obvious I was going to attack. Espcially those spears should have been protecting his cities.

Some other things he should have done differently:
* Tech path - HE didn't need Civil service. He should have prioritized bottom part of the tech tree and HBR
* We had OB for a long time - I used that to scout his movements. He never did send anything to see what I was doing.
* He had no intrest to protect key tiles e.g. I've parked my Archer on forested hill getiing vision to his central city.

For the longest time I thought the Zealots were yelling "My life for hire!", and marveled at how enthusiastically mercenary they were.

I did too! But I was like 13, so didn't really think it through. Had an epiphany moment in college.
