RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Peter of Byzantium

regoarrarr Wrote:@Jabah - You're right - we are low on the scouting information. We made the decision to not scout with our only warrior, a decision that Mortius did not make which bit him.

Mortius started with a scout...

Based on the river and the existing tiles, you can pretty much know that's a great site smile. I don't expect any more resources, but if we have them what a bonus!

Well, having not heard really one way or the other, I went ahead and played. Worker roading the tile 1W of the incense, and eastern warrior going to the copper spot.

And looky what we have here!

How awesome of a spot is green dot! 8 grassland hills, copper, rice, gold and deer, and 8 river tiles (most of them grass)

Sadly it's only 4 tiles from Athlete's capital and probably quite the stretch.

Red dot is I guess where we're going?

Email from athlete with some scouting info

Quote:I logged in to take some screenshots and saw Michel hasn't moved yet so thought I might be able to provide some direction. If you move SE onto the grass hill it will reveal a lake tile 2 tiles to the SE. That is the North Westernmost tile of a 4 tile circle lake. You could then travel around the north of the lake following our border and head S perhaps following the coast if you wished. That would put you right on track to hit the Incan capital. If you wanted to head S but stayed slightly more to the E you could catch a glimpse of the Incan borders before heading SW of there towards the ruined Zulu. I have not yet scouted directly S of the Incan capital but am told it is coast. Hope that helps.

I instead sent the warrior west towards our copper city but will thank him for the info

And one from Jowy

Quote:Let's go with turn 100 for now, if that's OK with you. The game will change quite a lot and there will be many different factors that can break or make peace. Nothing against you personally, but I don't want to have my hands tied for so long. Of course if everything goes well between us, then we will sign a new NAP. The 10 turn cooldown period is fine with me. Let's get back to the 2nd NAP discussion before turn 100, and if we agree to a new NAP then let's just have it start right after this one ends.

I agree. I couldn't really think of anything else than what I said, and following it in "good faith". But what you said is true and we should make a clear agreement that we can't disagree on. Border agreement in the NAP terms would be great, but if we want to include that in this NAP, then we have to wait till both have scouted the area between us.

I may try here to get some sort of vague thing, like no settling more than 5 tiles from your capital in our direction? Do we want to tell them where our capital is, i.e. how close it is? I mean if we have a NAP till T100, shouldn't be harm since clearly they'll see it by then. No matter what kind of vague settling agreement I come up with, I'll make sure it leaves us some prime spots in that area.

I like red dot 1 tile to the west; it might not be quite as good a spot depending on what's in the fog but it does pick up a few hills and if it is a holy city it puts so much pressure on the surrounding tiles it will make it hard for Athlete to get use out of them.

With red dot one west I wonder if we could get greedy and settle west of the southern Copper?

We really, really need to get a border agreement with Jowy in place so we can ignore that area for now.

What do you mean by settling red dot 1W? Settling on the northern copper?

Yeah darrell you're going to have to let me know what you mean there. Also, what should I be doing with the worker?

We are last to finish turn again. Current position is that he is on the tile 1W of the incense with a road on the tile.

Oops! I meant 1E bang.

I'd move the Worker SE again (checks...yes I mean SE) and continue roading towards the river if the coast is clear.

OK I am on board for red dot 1E (1NW of the gold)

I moved the warrior guarding the worker SE and there's a lion there. The lion is 2S of the incense (warrior is 1S). I am going to move to the incense and put in a turn of road.

Spiros survived vs. the lion but is down to 0.9/2 health - I am going to limp him home.

Eastern warrior is going to explore over towards the northern copper before providing settler cover.

Settler due next turn, I am assuming he moves on to the plains hill SW of the incense, then SE-SE on to the grass forest, then settles? Speak now if that's not the plan

Another warrior after the settler, or what?
