It's easy to get that impression, but his 28 posts in this thread say otherwise.

Zed is still trying to figure out where the lurker boundaries are. he stopped supplying *new* ideas last time we smacked him around, so be gentle- he's trying.
Personally i think i would not have posted as Zed did, but only out of an abundance of caution. Even tho it's an idea already presented by the players, i try to never comment on ongoing tactics.

Lol at Bacchus' retroactive trade for Seahawks. unprecedented is probably the fairest way to put it. when he declared war on ScooPin i had the same reaction as Plako, "no respect". now i just dont know what to think!

I like how mackoti and pinscoter make their moves against each other (nearly chesslike). And also that this gives plako a chance to close the gap abit.
Looks to me we have a very interesting industrial age ahead.

Agreed.
Also, mack seems like he will have the upper hand in frigate production, in order to shut scoopin down. however, how much harder will it be for him since all of Scoopin's boats have 2 extra movement than his will? I mean, it sounds nice to build 2 frigates every 3 turns, but when Viking Ships can just dance around all of them, I would think mack's either got to build a hell of a lot more than would be preferred, or only defend a few points and let other cities fall to vikings.

looks to me like mack is going to spot TBS' free cities first. if he does... that might be game over. C'mon ScooPin, you even got an invitation!

I dunno - a large part of Scootinator's problem is that they've been focused purely on infrastructure builds, and they're a little behind in naval tech. But those are both factors that they can change quickly - faster than Mack could make a captured city pay, anyway. And it's not *that* far around the south coast, if they get worried enough to pump boats on both coasts at once, not when you're talking about 6-movers. Even shorter past Commodore, if they can figure out a way to communicate peaceful intentions.
As a lurker, I'm glad Mack has forced the issue, though. Should be exciting.

Speaking of Commodore: I think he still underestimates William or Williams will to conquer that island.

Yeah. Can tell by the reporting focus on Feitorias, rather than on Carracks. I suspect William will manage to take Bathurst, and maybe even press west, before Commodore gets serious about the war and stops him.
Still think Commodore will win in the end, but that's mainly because he's got so much more tech and ports. And it won't happen until he takes William seriously.
