Since everyone knows that the game is really for OUR benefit, not the players.
Again standard reminder, only be here if you're not playing or dedlurking someone else, etc etc.
I do really like the map i've found, it was a surprisingly good roll for having to fit 18 players on a map. I think I'm going to follow in the RB Mod Pitboss game tradition of not posting the entire map here so that lurkers can follow along as it is discovered, but once I do through a few drafts of working through the map I'll be sending the file to other players i've reached out to that said they'd check it over for me.
Also from a lurker standpoint, I put fake money on the Fintourist/Old Harry/TheHumanHydra team doing better than most people will expect them to, that's a nasty newbie combination.
It might be it plus some of the other settings being voted on? After looking at everyone's posted opinions and rolling maps I feel like what I did was the best way to go, so I won't take that back. I do feel bad if that's why though, I tried my best to make as fair a decision to please everyone as I could.
Yeah, I'm going to globally lurk this game. I'll be totally honest and say that I don't want to do this, but I can't justify spending as much time playing this game, as I would have to to do it justice, when I don't like the settings.

I don't really care how good you think the map you've found is, I don't like Big and Small scripts, for the gameplay at that map size, or for the game balance or intrigue. I don't particularly trust you as a map maker, because of my lack of knowledge of what you've done before, not because of the level of your skills which I don't know. However, I don't trust the combination of your skills and the script to fit 18 players in and still be interesting to the random start I would get. There are maybe 4 people I'd actually trust to make a map (well 5 but mackoti never makes maps IIRC) and most of them wanted to play or ded lurk in this game though, so I wanted to next best thing: a script I trusted to provide a basis that I was fairly sure you would be able to work on and provide am interesting game. Ultimately, the map script itself was what made me consider if I wanted to play over the past day, but the leader generation is what made me decide I wasn't going to play. Now here is the thing: I don't blame you, on any level for me not playing. The other players wanted to play on these settings, so the majority rules. But I'm not going to spend 1,000 hours of my time, when I have dissertations to write, essays to plan, presentations to produce and placements to work at, playing a game that I'm not sure will be fun. I could be wrong, I openly admit that, the game could be fantastic, but I'm not willing to agree to a gamble which these settings are. And that's why I dropped out. tl;dr: Don't trust the map maker with such an important task but map script and leader generation method are reasons I don't want to risk wasting time on this game. |
