New Civilization 5 Expansion - Brave New World

Ace Patrol seems okay so far. They have Sid Meier as a pilot portrait.

I'm debating whether to give in and get Civ V + the G&K expansion. I'm having a really difficult time getting over how incredibly ugly the minimap is (I can't believe it still looks like amoeba crawling over a field). Would anyone be interested in a G&K PBEM for complete newbs?

I'd recommend BNW as well, it's a big improvement and it's cheap right now.

Hmm. I'm honestly not sure I would play the game for more than one SP game and/or PBEM- not sure that's worth 15 bucks, even if that's a significant discount over the normal price.

If you really cannot get over the minimap for some reason; then this is a waste of money. If you are exaggerating your hatred you might want to try out the game. T-hawk likes it.

I played a game of Civ3 from this bundle and it felt crazy fast. crazyeye

I enjoyed Civ 5 mostly as a puzzle game - ignore the AIs and play for fastest possible finishes. If you've never played it, I think it's worth 7 bucks for a game or two to form your own opinions. It's not Civ 4 but it's still one of the top few strategy games on the market. I wouldn't play a G&K PBEM, but would follow along closely with any reporting.

BNW MP isn't too bad, the combat system can be fun in its own way. A shame, because unless you're rolling tight maps, there isn't much incentive to go over and bash in an opponent's face when you could turtle on 4 cities towards a space race.

Civ5 Complete Edition is out tomorrow. No more DLC or expansions then, time to wait for Civ6 wink

FYI it's priced @ $50 so you guys will wait for a sale. I'd say the full game is worth at least ~$25 and they will have a 50% sale so I would wait for that if you haven't got Civ5 at all.

The Humble Bundle Sid Meier sale is still going, humblebundle.com says available for 7 more days, $15 includes Civ 5 and both expansions.
