Today we've landed our first blow of the game!
First though, let's recap the turn before:

What I noticed was that my warrior could not see the axe on that sheep tile from the tile where he was. I'm no expert on vision, so I don't know why.
But I assumed it works both ways, so I left my chariot on that same tile with the warrior, hoping to catch Yuris off-guard.

Back to this turn:

Flawless victory! He even moved his axe away, probably reacting to my units from the other direction.
Which was lucky, cause it was a mistake by me to move them that far, they were supposed to stay one tile further back.
Okay, I take that back, maybe I'd actually prefer to attack the axe rather than get the freebie workers.. Small chance to lose it all, but eh, I think it'd be better.

Before attacking, I did abuse the open borders to scout out his lands. He's got two axes. I even went further in with my remaining movement, but didn't find any more units.

This is the situation at the end of the turn. I've got 1 chariot guarding the 3 stolen workers. I think he CAN attack the chariot and then delete the workers if he wins the roll, but I don't think he can save them. Maybe I should have moved the warrior next to the border the turn before so that it could have now defended the workers, but I didn't want to lose the surprise factor. The other stack has 2 chariots and 1 impi (I changed an impi production to a chariot in Blight after spotting his axe, but the near completed Impi will join in soon). I'm building a chariot in Thrawn just in case his scouting warrior near my borders tries to pillage anything.

Nice report. The visibility issue is related to the lake tile. Your chariot can see across the lake to the adjacent shore. Yuri's axe would have had reciprocal visibility on your chariot had you left the chariot where you could see his axe. The warrior and axe could only see the tiles immediately adjacent to their respective positions. Pretty good situation to find yourself in. Keep it up!

Aw shoot, he won the 75% roll on my chariot and deleted all the workers. Well, I killed his axe and razed his city ^^
I was gonna call off the attack, but since he deleted the workers I think I'll do as much damage as I can.
Such a pity, if only I had gotten those workers for myself, this attack would have definitely been worth it. At least we still got entertainment value out of it shades
Btw I think Yuris was the favorite to win this game, but after this he'll have to work that much harder for it. You are welcome, other players.

Just to explain one thing: I'm not continuing the attack out of spite. If I did get the three workers, then I'd end up with net gain out of this whole ordeal, at least according to my own metrics. However, because I didn't get them, I will have to push further and take more risks to gain more out of my investment. For all I know he could have a stack waiting for me just in the fog, but if I do manage to capture his capital or pillage his lands for gold, then I will have gained more from the investment with just the units I already had in hand.

Couldn't get vision on the capital without overextending an Impi and being susceptible to an axe attack. I decided to do some pillaging, and got some phat loot smile
I could have hit the capital the next turn with 1 chariot and 2 impis, but I reckon he'd have at least two axes since I saw one retreating earlier and he whipped 3 cities this turn.
I have 1 new chariot catching up just outside the screen (Yuris' warrior didn't enter our lands, so I pulled the defender here).
The chariot that killed the axe is at 2.8 HP even after promoting. I had terrible combat rolls both defending and attacking against that axe.

He moved two units on a tile without a road, two tiles from his capital. So I have this opportunity, which I took.
It's super fucking risky, because if he's got more axes to attack at my stack with, then it's not gonna be pretty.

No tears now, only dreams! popcorn
