[SPOILERS] The Wild Card

That musket:

So, pindicooter attacked me a turn or two ago, while I had revolted into Caste system during the golden age.

That's going pretty well for them, he gets odds with his amphibious sea units and I generally can't strike back. Anyway, this turn I saw I lost a city during Mack's turn as well. The sight was not pretty:

I can't remember if it's been 10 turns since our deal, the copper for copper countdown was cancelled when we lost Popinjay. Hard to care at this point though. Mostly, I just want to do some damage before I die. With that in mind, Mack has left a bit of an opening in Yeoman here. Only 2 Janissary defenders and 3 galleons in port.

The cat and the two northern knights are in range. We'll need some luck, but I'll roll the dice:

Need 2/2:

Well, maybe we don't need exactly 2/2. We are very close to a GG, if it spawns somewhere reasonable I can give a musket in Chrysalis Morale to finish the job. So, let's try the other knight:

Win! Need 3xp for that GG.

Mack had a stack of 3 knights West of Water Lily. I doubt I'd be much trouble on the defense anyway when he has a cannon to soften me up first. So, I suicided 3 LBs to get odds with the musket. Come on ...

Lose. frown

Ok, do we have any other options? Well, there is the musket in Chrysalis, 20% odds on mack's C2 knight stack. I still feel like rolling the dice ...

Victory and the GG! dancing

The Jannisary is only on 0.4 health, I still have a LB in Chrysalis to attach the GG:

Can't believe this worked! jive Now to promote to morale done, hmm, what other promos will I give him, wait, don't click that!

shakehead Yeah, I misclicked onto the hill.

I don't care enough for a reload, even if it was allowed/worked. Thought the story was good though, and if mack reports some weird happenings, the lurkers have the scoop. crazyeye

Welp, at least you don't have to keep logging in to press enter for the next half a year :P
Anyone in war with Suttree? Can we maybe outlast him?

I was going to have a look when I played the next turn, but civstats has the answer:

Take that sutt neenerneener

Doubt we'll outlast anyone else though. I might have been able to escape a settler up to the icecaps earlier, but that boat has now sailed, literally. I'm more interested in reading the other threads anyway than grinding it out on an iceball for another few months.

The last city. I sent out loads of resource for money deals since money means nothing to us anymore. Probably some overlap, but the more that go through before this turn ends the better. Old Harry still has to play at least, so I imagine they'll go through and we won't starve. Revolted back into slavery, so it's just dry-whipping muskets till the end of time now. We're also the only civ in the game to use Mercantilism I think ... as I said, money doesn't do anything for us, that engineer does.

This may be the saddest "golden age" I've ever seen. High times indeed, to see the empire reduced so.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
