Could we have someone volunteer to sub in for these turns instead? They don't have to do anything other than hit end turn and fortify units inside cities. I still think that's preferable to retiring to the AI.
Bantams is worse than AI. You should be begging for the AI to replace Bantams.
EDIT: I cut some spoilery details.

I'll just wait a bit more for further lurker input, than I'll make a decision. Thanks for your patience.

From the info I received in the lurker thread, I'm assuming the AI moves before the end of a turn, in PB games. If that's the case, my decision is to just keep going with the game, no reload needed and to keep Bantams' civ as AI. Gavagai will take on the first part of the next turn, so the units illegaly moved by Bantams won't be able to cause any harm (they already exhausted the moves from this turn, so the AI can't move them again when the turn ends), he can react to those moves before the AI will act again.
Please, inform me if I'm mistaken about when the AI moves happen (at the end or at the start of a turn). If the AI moves at the beggining of a turn, we may have to reload the game.
I think Bantams' civ being kept as AI is the best way to keep this game going forward at a decent pace. It's not a perfect solution, but I don't think we have any better option, considering the circumnstances.
I just want to confirm the info about AI movement, after that the game can be unpaused. If anyone has anything to say about this decision, please state it now.

AI will play in the beginning of the turn. At least in gamespy games so hard to belive it would be different here.

Barbs move at the start of the turn. I think AIs should follow the same pattern.

Ok, so the info I got on the lurker thread was incorrect. This means we'll need a reload and things will get a bit trickier.

I'm thinking about reloading the game to Gaspar's login before the turn was ended. We then retire Bantams to AI in the previous turn, so that the AI can move before gavagai at the beggining of the turn (keeping the turn order in the war). This way, Gavagai doesn't get an unfair advantage of a double move on the AI, nor does it get hindered by the illegal moves.
From my Civ stat reading, this reload won't cause any problem, since Gavagai and Bantams were almost the first to login and play the turn. I can't say for sure, because there might be GP RNG in the turnj roll. So, if anyone objects to this course of action, please, let me know with a PM (so to avoid spoilers regarding who is getting a GP, who is attacking). And, if anyone notices a problem with this solution that I'm not seeing, speak up.
And just a note about the game going forward. If you are in a war, please, don't login before your opponent if you are not first in the turn order, nor when he's playing his turn. This helps with reloads, if they end up being needed.

Krill has feelings, just not the nice kind.
