Still at 6xp since he hasn't seen any action since you stepped down, but I did manage to get him back to the Lewwyn front, so he should see combat this upcoming turn assuming Lewwyn doesn't bail on the attack.
Okay, my turn is up. We're gonna play a game. Predict the kills. Winner can name a future city whatever they want, even if it doesn't follow the naming theme.
Past times we've done this, it's hard to quantify who wins, because one person gets closer in numbers, one gets closer in power, etc etc. So the game is going to be simple. How many units will I kill this turn? How many units will die in the attack? Just two numbers. Closest combined number wins. Here were my two posts setting up what's going to happen. At the very end of the second post is the full numerical breakdown of hitters vs defenders. http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...#pid470291 - the setup http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...#pid470406 - unit breakdown at end of post Predict away! I'm going to start playing the turn soon and then report in a couple hours, so you've got a little time to predict. Sorry, I'm not going to be able to stream it like I considered, but hopefully I can write a detailed report about it. Anyway, Lewwyn played, so I'm up now. One potential factor. Lewwyn chose not to attack Pistons, but rather to position himself for razing Gators next turn. This means there's probably nothing I can do about him razing Gators. It also means you can add +1 Knight to the attack stack. Happy predicting!
Turn 213
Didn't go that well, so just as well nobody joined in on the predictions. I really did underestimate just how much all those junk units would soak up collateral. Things are about to get dicey here. General report: Airships first of course. Super helpful. After thinking it over, sent in the cannons first: I considered a few times switching to Grens, but the cannons weren't making NEARLY as much progress as I hoped. It went... poorly. But I had to keep pressing. Quote:cannon vs rifle (12.2%) - lose Finally got a few retreats at the end, but all those units will die next turn. Anyway, from there it was time to counter attack. I got myself a great general that landed in Tigers at one point which was pretty crucial in letting me get some extra promos. Here's how the Grens did. Quote:c2 gren vs pinch knight (66%) - lose Killed 13 Knights, 7 Rifles, 2 muskets, 1 CKN. So basically nothing. The boom is coming next turn. There's really nothing I can do to keep him from killing all of those units in Timbers. The walls are actually helpful because it makes the defense bombing way more costly for his catapults, and it's useful against all but his Rifles. My main problem was the Knights just could not get odds on his Rifles becuase of how much collateral was soaked up by junk units. I had some cannons attack with barrage promos and only collateral like 3 units. Even after all the carnage, my best Knights were getting like 20% odds on his top units. In the end it seemed best to preserve the Knights as best as I could. I figured if Timbers is going down, let's preserve Gators. So I kept several grens in there that could have gone to Timbers. So to begin with, there's 7 good defenders that will easily kill Knights. Then I've got all my Knights in there too, so he won't be able to get odds there. I suspect he won't chase those odds. But for now I want those units alive. So this is a bit of a mess, no way around that. I expect all those units in Timbers to die. My hope is just that it forces him to burn most of his collateral stack in doing so, and I can start picking him off from there. I did liberate another Azza city. I've got 9 elite grens down there in the south that will come through Azzaland. Hopefully I can use them opportunistically in some way. In retrospect, the way to go would have been to empty Timbers and force him to step onto flat ground. Like I said, really underestimated how much collateral those extra junk units would soak up. But I've played this hand, and now all I can do is work with it.
