Yeah, a human can reclaim a civ that has been converted to AI. Whether or not the human can cope with what the AI may have done during its reign, that's another question to ponder.

This game is Monarch, so the AI advantages wouldn't be all that impressive. The disadvantages, however...

Turn 226-227
Guess I owe an update. I had seen Mack moving in, so I've been trying to buy a couple of Azza's southeastern cities off him for 550g. He'd been ignoring me, then Mack did this:
Needless to say...
Since we all love controversy, I'll remind you that I gave these to Azza for free after capturing them myself about 10T ago, and here I am paying for them. Anyway, Lewwyn emptied out BaconWrap as expected:
However, I chose not to capture Baconator:
If I sat inside the city after capturing, he demolishes this mini-stack. These are my best units, so I decided to just wait a turn - cutting down the culture this turn didn't gain me anything. Next turn he won't be able to threaten this city. That's because of this setup:
He has 6 Knights, 5 Rifles, and 1 CKN that could threaten BaconWrap next turn. So I left 7 infantry in the city, 3 of which are mega-elite units. I moved everything else up onto the hill. If he doesn't heavily fortify Bacon, 14 Knights and around 10 Cavs will capture it next turn. If he does heavily fortify it (I expect he will for 1T), I'll move up next to it, at which point he'll probably retreat towards his capital. We'll see how he chooses to play it. I think he's just trying to force me to march 1 tile at a time, which makes enough sense. I resettled Gators:
So in the end I actually added 4 cities this turn, hah. I'll likely add 2 more over the next 2T.

Forgot one picture:
Commodore is sending some Cavs through my land to do..... something. I'm honestly not sure what the plan is here.

It would fun to see a duel between Scootherd and Mack

Lewwyn is gradually dying and will be gone in a few turns. He attacked a random infantry at 11% odds and won. Story of this war
Mackoti is gearing up to attack me for whatever reason. He'll have about 2T to do damage before I have Destroyers of my own. Anyway, he can do pretty significant damage if he wants, but what he gains from it other than a few mediocre islands and maybe a coastal burn or two is pretty mystifying. Plako is launching a MoM golden age unmolested on his other side and is probably the favorite to win at this point. Anyway, assuming mack attacks me, I'll do what I can to ensure a Plako victory. Admittedly, that's probably not a whole lot given that I don't really have the time to commit to a serious war. What's better, mailing it in when the act of mailing it in may decide the game winner, or seeking a replacement?
Between Plako's golden age and the ridiculous known tech bonuses. I'm feeling silly for getting suckered into playing yet another game where drastic changes were made to late-game tech costs/bonuses, but nobody ever actually, you know, tested them. So it goes. I would have stopped teching completely (why do it when you're at such a disadvantage in doing so) and committed to units, but Mackoti keeps pressing down the tech tree on 0% bonuses, so I've had little choice but to follow him.

Eh, I gave in. Posted an advertisement for a replacement: http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...2&page=128
The gist of it is I just don't want to continue playing games here. Honestly, Lewwyn's garbage gift of the shrine city was probably the last straw, especially because it came from a player I've always liked and respected. My enjoyment of this game pretty much plummeted after that - much worse than the turn I foolishly attacked him. I guess I just don't think this environment is one I really enjoy that much anymore. I'll play on if need be (I probably will need to given how many people are spoiled here), but I'm just happier when I'm not playing these games. If one of you guys who are unspoiled want to take the reins you definitely get first dibs, but we'll see where this goes. I'll probably stick around, but I'm just going to transition to being a spectator.

Well I don't know why you insist on playing with this mod if you doubt its quality.

Doesnt sound like his main beef is the mod. Scooter, for the record, i lobbied against the change and am very disappointed in our community for letting that happen. I feel your pain.
