T24:
Where should we go with the warrior? If we go south we can get a pek at the stuff behind the mountain there, maybe our other warrior won't have to go NE and can go south instead? :
Let's figure out our scouting.

Discussing the game with Lewwyn...
Quote: Lewwyn: scouting?
Gaspar: welp
I think I sort of agree with you
if that NE of the pig peninsula is as small as it looks
Lewwyn: south and south?
Gaspar: then going a little S with the north scout guy
and then border pops
we should be able to send the new scout S
do
well
we probably cant roam the 2nd war too far from home, can we?
Lewwyn: T24 now
we can got 3 turns south
get
and maybe a 4th
depends
and cover the settler
eight turns
Gaspar: does 3t south reveal anything?
i cant imagine much
Lewwyn: yes
well
if we send it NE
we can only go 2 tiles past the peaks before we have to come back
so its kinda the same either way
our poor scout
Gaspar: yeah
Lewwyn: if only
Gaspar: i think that peninsula info is more immediately relevent
Lewwyn: its gonna hurt us a bit
well
Gaspar: for sure
Lewwyn: we can move the north scout SE
Gaspar: we definitely are banging some chariots as soon as thats possible
Lewwyn: and see what it looks like
and whether we need to send the other warrior NE
Gaspar: yeah
Lewwyn: have you thought about 3rd city
I will say that even if we settle north of the horses, that it will take a while to get the horses connected because we need to get the sheep up first
food trumps IMO
Gaspar: of course
Lewwyn: so horses would only be delayes 2-3t I think by settling PH
Gaspar: the only situations where you dont food first involve you being attacked at that moment
Sent at 11:34 AM on Sunday
Gaspar: i think we probably need to sim out settling both
and see what the difference is
Lewwyn: well we got some time
Gaspar: yeah
Sent at 11:37 AM on Sunday
Gaspar: so its way, way too early for this
but based on current info
probably fishing -> sailing after bw
Lewwyn: k
Gaspar: then its a question of heading to monarchy or currency?
Sent at 11:41 AM on Sunday
Lewwyn: let's see if there is happy?
Gaspar: yeah
right now theres 3
but 2 calendar, one monarchy
><
can a brotha get some furs?
Lewwyn: seriously
warrior south
see if there's something
Gaspar: yeah
i mean you figure
we settle pigs on t33, horses around t42
right now clams is next, around 50-ish
Lewwyn: we need goddamn happy resources
Gaspar: though copper will have to be settled for if its available
but yeah, this is going to be painful if theres not a single fucking happy near home
SHOULD HAVE TAKEN CHM
tech math and hammams everywhere!
>.>
Lewwyn: fuck CHM
Gaspar: also fuck hammams
Lewwyn: its even worse in base bts
monuments
Gaspar: chm is garbage, yes
Lewwyn: mother of god
Gaspar: i actually think i rate chm as worse than agg
since at least with agg you're getting a cheap building you want to build some of
i think
if theres no happy
i might just want to beeline col
use religion
Lewwyn: did anyone get buddhism or hinduism?
yet?
Gaspar: this early?
come on
theres no AIs playing
Lewwyn: RELIGION CHASERS BE ON MY NUTS
Gaspar: lol
Lewwyn: who's nuts?
DEEZ NUTS
Gaspar: lol
Lewwyn: so do you want to race for jewsish people
Gaspar: its a thought, since it sort of steers towards monarchy as well
but
going for early religion half-kills the point of cre
writing really should come before
Lewwyn: yeah..
do you want to race to calandar
Gaspar: well
heres the thing
calendar is more on our logical tech path
but its not like sugar or incense are actually super close
Lewwyn: I know
thats why we need to explore
Gaspar: yeah
Lewwyn: find a happy resource
and settle the 4th city at the happy resource
Gaspar: well
Lewwyn: I mean I found incense
Gaspar: the only potential 4th city spot for a happy res
is either furs in the north above corn
Lewwyn: hasn't been discovered yet
Gaspar: or just west of clams
anything else would be too far
i guess NE of pigs if there's something
Lewwyn: stop being so pessimistic
Gaspar: im not being pessimistic
how long do you want to walk a fucking settler on t50?
Lewwyn: we've got 20 turns to find the gold
however long it takes
Gaspar: lol
Lewwyn: we're ORG
and we need happiness
Gaspar: yeah, we're org who will have nothing but warriors at that point
Lewwyn: eh
Gaspar: LETS SETTLE FOR THE JUNGLED IVORY
Lewwyn: we'll get atleast one chariot by t50
just trust me we'll figrue it out
no problem
Gaspar: HEH
err heh
i trust you, but unless you have a maphack
Lewwyn: we'll firgure it out
Gaspar: yeah - lack of exploration definitely hurts
there could be gems like 2NE of the pig city and we don't have any idea
Gaspar: (note 2NE of the pig city is definitely a peak)
Lewwyn: XD
Gaspar: MAYBE THERES GEMS IN THE SNOW AT THE TOP
Lewwyn: silver dude
silver
Gaspar: THERES SILVER IN THEM THAR HILLS
Lewwyn: gold dude
gold
Gaspar: always missing something
I'm not sure what this conversation has taught us
other than fuck xenu
Lewwyn:
that and I'm more optomistic than you
Gaspar: uh
that was not a new lesson
i'm not the doomsayer for nothing
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

New warrior can go SE-3NE or 2SE. Maybe 2SE makes more sense because you can scout east of the pig city after the city is planted.

t25 played...
Border pop plus warrior exploration expands the map knowledge a bit. Still a stunning lack of happy resources that we could access in the next 50t. This seems as good a time as any to share the sum total of that current map knowledge
Quick stab at some meaningless C&D:
Pindicator: 3 techs researched, size 3
dtay: 3 techs researched, size 3
Oxy: 3 techs researched, size 3
Thoth: 3 techs researched, size 2
TBS: 2 techs researched, size 3
Us: 2 techs researched, size 3
Commodore: 2 techs researched, size 2
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

SE with the south warrior isn't going to reveal anything (i.e. useful luxury) now, so I'd go 3NE.
If you guys are following my sim, the micro for next turn is to start a cottage 1E of the capital and move onto the forest SE of the capital. And Ichabod, that plains wine xenu is not a good city spot.

At least Gaspar had the good sense to not bad mouth me until after I released the map. Else he would have got a "corrected" starting screenshot like pindicator did with a morale barb axe two tiles from the settler spawn. Must have set the wrong AI mission on that axe though, damn.
Oh you guys are still here whining about the map? Carry on, your suffering amuses me greatly.

I don't actually have enough map knowledge to complain yet, but I have a reputation to live up to.

Actually at this point, I moved Nessie to the forest and I moved the new worker to the PH hill East of the forest. Then they both road. Then they move together to cottage the grass 1E of the city. Then when cottage finishes they move to the wines and both road. Then they move together to the PH and put 2t into the mine. Then they go to the pig and pasture>road pigs>finish PHmine> 1 worker north to road the plain forest bby the horse the second 1t road S of 2nd city>farm corn.

Actually, we don't need the warrior in the south to be there for the settler since its still in borders. What turn do barb warriors start spawning?

Okay, that's the same as my sim, just a transposition that I didn't realize was possible.
