RP Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Darius I of the Holy Roman Empire

That barb city location fits a lot better with your dot map. I'd just take the city, it's right next to your capital!

Kyan Wrote:the site you're being offered seems really poor. Considering the barb site in question is undeniably nearer to your lands- it strikes me you're being very generous.

OTOH Krondor is very strong site and quite aggressive towards the Malinese so maybe some concessions towards the romalinese aren'T that bad?

Thanks for the input, guys!

You both are right and it's a very thin line we're going to walk.
I hope to convince Dantski that we can take that site (or 1E of it) without creating problems between us.
Otherwise we might start aiming at a war with Dantski to show him our strength. After CoL we could research Math to get catapults and we can easily start building an army.

Let's see what happens...

Turn 69:

Rolan finished worker (whip) and started an Axe (4 turns)

Krondor finished Barracks, Axe in 1 turn, after that another Axe. First Axe will move to barb city.

Sethanon will finish Monument next turn due to a chop, I suggest an Axe there as well to move towards either the production site or the coastal site east of Krondor.

Workers will start 3 pastures next turn on Cow, Sheep and Horse.

Scouts are still in the move.

Regarding research, do you suggest we wait untill we have enough gold saved to run 17 turns of research or do we do a few turns of research and then a few turns of gold?

Had a nice chat with Sulla (in game), he confirmed that Kodii founded Hinduism. He also told me that there are a lot of good coastal sited for Dantski and him. He suggested swords against skirmishers. I wonder what they researched after their 20 point leap...

Still got the feeling that we're doing pretty damn fine over all. Now, if we could find a way to take the Oracle...

I think Dantski can take it before we can though.

Another worker = good. smile

Sethanon - axe is fine.

For research, I would STRONGLY suggest that we save enough to run 17 turns (or less if we gain more cottages, etc). If someone founds Confucianism, then the value of CoL for us is reduced and if Dantski suddenly gets prepared for war, we will switch to Maths with tons of gold in reserve.

-Just one of the reasons why binary research is superior to 60%, 70% research rate. smile

Ok, so Peter of Byzantines founded Buddhism and the (?) of Incas founded Hinduism. No one founded Judaism yet, I believe.

Maybe speaker/sulla got a wonder but the game doesn't show that until next turn?

Some couple of screenshots and comments.

Here's Rolan. Too bad the axe finishes before the city grows to size 4. I suggest we put a turn of production into the Oracle, while growing to size 4, then slow-build a settler at that point. Or we could grow to size 5. The problem with that is that I really want to get our cities out ASAP, land is at a premium.

Here's our northern explorer. I suggest he goes on the road on the jungle to the "7" of him. After that he can go whichever way makes sense. Are we trying to explore their lands or just send the warrior out to find the edge of the map?

Here's our southern explorer. Should probably go to the "9" unless we want to explore plako/whosit's lands (not a bad idea really).

Here's the worker situation. Northern worker, sheep. Southern worker, horses (then road).

2 last things:

-be aware of any odd tile yields (such as 1 hammer and 2 food on a bare grassland) that can display iron in someone's borders
-if we send 1 explorer to explore the inside of one nation (India or Rome) the other explorer should continue to find the Byzantines.

You should pasture the sheep first with both workers and then have them pasture and road the horses.

Growing Rolan to size 5 gives us the option of double whipping the settler, that could be faster then slow building one at size 4.
Krondor could build a settler as well after the second axe, it will be a good production city for now and we can chop one of the forests north to speed it up.

Good plan concerning the sheep, Novice! I'll do as you suggest.

I'll follow your research plan, DMOC, not to familiar with binary research myself.

As far as scouting is concerned, I suggest we move both warriors close to the inner sea first and once they meet, let them spread out towards the outer seas and scout the rest of the land.

If you are going to slave, why aren't you building granaries?
