Email to Jowy
Quote:Hi Jowy,
Sorry for the diplomacy spam without waiting for you to reply. Though I have to say one of the main reasons I like to email you is that when I do, Gmail gives me Finnish ads and stories :-). I always find it funny the kinds of Google Adwords that I get when doing Civ diplomacy or Diplomacy diplomacy!
But anyways, the reason that I am writing again is that I got a chance to look into the game, and I saw that you do indeed have iron, and already hooked up! And I also saw that we are connected via trade routes. I'm not sure how - perhaps you have Sailing already? So you do have the ability to trade us iron, which is great news! (for us, anyways)
It is interesting that now our discussion turns more from the abstract ("sure I would be happy to help if I could - let me know") to the concrete ("Will you trade us your iron for 10 turns so that we can survive?").
Obviously this is a life or death situation for us. We have made our case to you as why we feel like it is in your best interests for us to survive and for the Ottomans to not be a monster civ with twice the land of everyone else. You may be constrained by previous agreements that you have made with the Ottomans or other civs - you have not shared those with us (and you don't have to if you don't want to). Frankly at this point, you could probably name your price with us (land? workers? units? money? something else?)
As I mentioned before, it is our team's consensus that if we are to die, you were the player / Civ that we most wanted to help or to benefit from our demise, above any of the other civs that we border (Ottomans / Speaker and Sullla / IKZ). But like I said earlier in the email, now our conversation has turned from the abstract to the concrete. And while I do not intend this to be threatening, obviously that situation changes should you decide not to help us, now that you definitively have the concrete ability to spare our lives with an iron that we will pay for handsomely.
We hope to hear from you soon.
