It's 2 hours till the 12 hr mark (so around 230-3 EST) Nothing from Jowy frown. He has not logged in yet today. I bet we have a bit of leeway. I mean honestly even if they played without us, it's not the end of the world - we've both been holding in place near Athens for the past 4-5 turns...

One thought that I had was wondering if it would be worth trying to ping athlete mentioning that we have the Oracle and see if that might affect their wanting peace. Though honestly the only thing I'd want back is Paris, and I can't see any way they'd agree to that, so maybe not even worth it.

I'll check back in a few hours I guess.

The Oracle would make Athens even more desirable for the GPP points, I don't see us getting peace.

What's the protocol for us missing our window? Does it mean we can play after them this turn but then go first next turn? That would allow double moves so I can't see that happening. OTOH, we can't just swap playing order because now the team that goes first can control if and when they swap to second.

I think we are going to have to play our turn in our window.

What's this "denial" stuff? That implies that we just took it to not let other teams have it, rather than on our own merits. We're in this game to win it! Err... Sort of :neenernee

We at least are not sure that we have gotten it as we have not logged in. I don't know if you have seen other teams mention anything about it - I don't think it's really a spoiler since we can't really do much one way or the other based on that knowledge.

Okay I just read through the rules again...I think if we miss our window we forfeit our turn as things are written frown. I don't think we can ask for a pause while waiting in diplomacy either, that's just for technical or access issues. So I really think we need to play. I think barring a last second e-mail from Jowy we should take IW with The Oracle. Sucks but what else can we do?

If the timer gets down to under 15 minutes, I'm going to play the turn to the best of my abilities smile.

I've been talking to regoarrarr via chat and here's our consensus:

It's worth waiting to hear back from Jowy, at least 1 turn. But we don't want to loose our opportunity to choose our Oracle tech. We're not sure if the game will pick for us if we don't log in. So I propose posting something like
Quote:We've landed Oracle and are waiting on some diplo couriers before choosing our tech. We're willing to forfeit our moves this turn, but of course not our ability to choose our Oracle tech. Does anyone know if the game picks for you if you don't choose a tech during the turn you land Oracle? We would ask that if we let the turn go by and the game does pick for us we then be allowed a reload.

The only thing I'd add would be something like "we THINK we have landed the Oracle" just so we don't look awful stupid if someone else beat us by tiebreaker lol
