This was waaaay more nerve-wracking that it had any right to be...
YAAAAAAAAAY! Also, boo I guess about Dtay building the GLH. I wasn't going for it, but I was kind of hoping to get a little failgold. Still, good on yeh Deets. Rolodex: Complete! Found Gaspar with Magellan, he's got seven cities and seems fairly middle of the pack to be honest. Nothing wrong with that, Zara is all about simply steady growth. Barbarian drama aside, "steady growth" is going to kind of be the theme this game I think. Tune back in in about fifty turns and things ought to be heating up. Or Thoth will be unstoppable, I dunno. My own demos say "needs growth, otherwise okay". The MFG is fairly obviously from some of the pushes I'm doing right now. We are all deep in the shadows of Thoth in CY, honestly. I'm going to try to fix that, first of all by brutally suppressing CY further. I whip two settlers and a galley next turn, for the Island Claim and someplace else. I was going to go north to the clam but I think now that the Legio settler may be better served heading for the wine/lake/pigs/gems spot north of Germanica. Farewell, population!

And so it was; a great whipping was had. Although it was my neighbors who did things of note this turn; TBS is scouting all up in my grill...
...and Thoth is being kind of annoying: I'm not overly fussed about Thoth's positioning there really. If he messes with me I won't have a chance of winning; ergo, my game plan becomes "death to Zulu". Which is fun in its own way.

Thoth's impi is a bit tetchy; I can easily dry-whip an axe here in Augusta if needed but that hurts a lot. However, if he moves in he can take a shot at the city (mobility, remember) without my whips taking effect. So, unpleasant as it is, here is my solution:
Needs must as devil drive and all. Woo pitboss! Next devil born of need is this exceedingly imperfect spot for the make benefit of home Legion! I'm honestly kind of tickled by how awful the road situation is around Legio. Disdaining all need of roads, my galley is about to plant a settler for plainshill/pigs/two seafood Moai Sexy Spot. Which, I'll confess, is a bit of a mouthful for a city name. Maybe "Flavia Felix"? I like calling my forward Thoth front port lucky, its a good idea to flick off Murphy whenever you can.

Mexican standoff! Or, you know, the galley might well be empty. If he's invested in chariots I'm losing some cities...
...but he's losing the game.

I just got 'fretensis', haha (though it's inverted from the actual fretensis meaning )
Do you think Thoth's taking your tiltiness into account in his actions? And what's the turn order, because if he's first... |
