Turn 72
Another quiet turn, Sethanon grew to size and and was whipped for an axe.
Next turn our army will increase in power greatly as 3 axes will be done in the same turn.
Sethanon will start another axe, Rolan an granary and Krondor a settler.
Our first axe will arrive at barb city next turn to take a look at the situation.
Scouting warriors are still... scouting...
We're getting close to enough money to start on CoL, a few more turns and then a haul of 18... but that might be fewer once we get the gold mined and connected at Sethanon.

Finally got a message from Plako, trying to keep very friendly with him..
Quote:Dear Nakor and DMOC,
I just decided to send you a message to see how things are looking on your side of the world. In our side things are tense, but currently peaceful.
Whosit didn't attack right after the enforced peace ended, but obvivously we're still very wary and forced to focus on military way more than we would want to be at this point of the game. We've high hopes that we'll get copper connected in ~5 turns that makes it possible to relax a bit, but still agressive Praetorians can't be ignored for a long time.
I'd like to also inform you that I would be willing to locate our border city still so that we don't claim the deer, even if we weren't able to negotiate deal out of it. I would just had to request that you don't settle a city 1S of the deer on the coastline that would be just 3 tiles away from our city.
Best regards,
plako
Our reply:
Quote:Dear Plako and Broker,
Thanks for the message. Things are looking good at our side of the world, but to no-tech-trades makes things a bit more difficult.
Dantski is still friendly, though he had some requests regarding a barb city that's very close to our border.
We're sending a few axes out now to review the situation.
If the need arrises, these axes can move towards you to aid you in troubled times. Have you seen preatorians yet? And is there an option that you can convince Whosit to attack east first?
Thanks for the relocation of your city. We're planning on settling 2N of the deer, so no problems there.
Where are you planning on claiming copper? Our scouting warrior noticed that Whosit claimed 2 coppers north of you...
Hope to hear more from you and good luck,
Nakor

And a message from Sulla:
Quote:Dear Nakor and DMOC of Holy Rome,
I noticed that we have both been spending some Espionage Points against each other. Perhaps we could agree to spend enough EPs to see one another's bar graphs, and then switch our efforts to other teams? I understand that if we both spend 43 points against one another, then we'll both have Demographics visibility. How would something along those lines sound to you?
Cheers,
Sullla
The Killer Angels
Our reply:
Quote:Dear Sullla and Speaker,
Indeed we've moved our EP towards you. We agree on spending enough to see the bar graphs only and then switch to another team.
Have you found out other interesting things we need to know?
Cheers,
Nakor

Interesting messages, all around. I wonder what will be the outcome of the plako/broker vs whosit (of Rome) war. In my honest opinion, we really should support Whosit since he'll have a huge advantage this war.
Plako's message. What do you think?
Quote:Dear Nakor and DMOC,
I'm afraid Whosit isn't intrested in to live in peace. I hope we can delay things until we've enough axes for defense. Archers are just way too weak to be more than a delay.
We've located Copper on the island SE from us and hope to hook up it in ~5 turns.
Best regards,
plako
Also, any ideas on:
1. What free tech regoarrar took?
2. If we should still research CoL? Perhaps we should switch to Maths - Catapults OR Sailing (Great Lighthouse?)? (Glad we are running binary research with lots of gold saved so we can do either path with minimal research loss.)

Oh, 1 last thing:
Next city to be founded with our next settler - the "production city" we labeled before, right?

And another turn
3 axes finished, Rolan started a Granary, Krondor (size 4 now) a Settler (7 turns) and Sethanon a Spearman (Dantski whipped 3 times in the last 2 turns, if that are chariots, we do need spears) and we're third in soldier count now:
But look at that top 1 GNP! I guess this means Sulla/Speaker build an academy with their GS (or started a golden age):
Scouting warrior has some bad luck:
Had a chat with Whosit, it seems like there is a barb city 4 tiles east or our almost dead warrior. That explains the axe.
Whosit also thinks that there are some nice resources hidden in the middle island and that naval power will play a significant part of this game. He also sees Sullla/Speaker as the top dog.
He's interested in a friendly relationship with us, of course...
And finally, a look into Barb City:
How shall we approach that? 2 axes are on their way while the 3rd will go to the prod. city for our next city.

Axe vs Warrior = <squishy sound>
Your lone axe could probably take that city

Indeed, Ilios. but what if Dantski has chariots nearby...
DMOC, shall we attack next turn or do we wait for the other axes?
Shall we give a promotion?

Just to get things straight in my head, are you intending to keep barbtown?
