I can find some 90 second clips of goals and the like ... can you suggest a link (or links) with more details?
Oh. I've never seen anyone describe a 20-30 minute video as highlights before...

I find a 90 minute game too much of an investment. A 90 clip of a goal of two leaves you in the dark about how well a team is actually playing (eg Aust scored 2 goals against Netherlands ... one from a long ball volley and the other from a penalty ... were they outplayed for the other 88 minutes or did they actually compete?).
Here is another example of the google summary of one of the games (Ivory Coast v Columbia) ...
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Check the stats. Shots on goal and possession are good stats to look at to gauge the effectiveness of each team in the game.

In hockey there are more complex stats not displayed by broadcasters (like Corsi), do these exist in soccer/football as well?

Group E
Current Standings
France - 6
Ecuador - 3
Switzerland - 3
Honduras - 0
Games coming up
Ecuador v France
Switzerland v Honduras
No one has qualified. We could end up with three teams all with 2 wins each (6 pts). Imagine winning 2 out of 3 games in your group and NOT qualifying for the next round. I remember when Ireland qualified after 3 draws.
Honduras even has a chance with a victory and an Ecuador loss. They would have to make up a pretty sizable goal difference.

The Sabres broadcast displays Corsi.
There are dozens of "advanced" stats for soccer but they're a bit more intuitive and less all-in-one than those used in baseball or basketball (which are light years ahead of hockey on that front.) Check out Squawka they can sort of get you started in that direction.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Well, colour me surprised about Buffalo
Thanks for the link, I'm a big fan of advanced metrics. Too bad my sport probably has one of the smaller combined intellectual powers among fans (for coming up with the stats and whatnot) in major sports.

Seriously, they're up to 4-1-1 now by my count. And 5 of those 6 games were against South American or European teams. Ooooooookay.
Mexico and USA won their game against African teams.
CR win vs SA and Eu
Mex win vs Afr and draw vs SA
Honduras loss vs EU and SA
US win vs Afr
So 4-1-2(w-d-l) with 1-1-1 vs SA , 1-0-1 vs Eu and 2-0-0 vs Afr
But far better than expected.

It is still outdated darrell and the 4-1-1 (before Honduras lost vs Ecuador) included 2 games vs Africans so not 5 out of 6 vs EU+SA.
See my previous post for the CONCACAF- results
