Sheesh really well done by TBS considering Thoth got 4 cities from pindicator. I'm not sure if this is going to continue though considering he is Joa and doesn't have late game traits.

TBS is considering going into a GA without caste? Is that worth it?

Thoth only got 3 off me to be fair. He razed my questionably placed second city. (Speaking of which, I expected to see at least some smoke comments about its placement here but it didn't get a comment.)

a moment of weakness from TBS? Did he fail to read Pitboss 16 where Gaspar went in a grudge campaign?

Hopefully this won't provoke a bigger war, there's a big gap between Hyperborea and his next city and our other border is the chokepoint by Hondo, he might pillage our wheat there but I can't see him making further gains.

He is joao. That is probably the right move

from Commodore's update:

(July 7th, 2014, 15:45)Commodore Wrote: No shockers anywhere, I think the crop yield actually shows the split the best:
-The Black Sword: 20 cities
-Thoth: 18 cities
-OxYuri: 17 cities
-Dtay: 17 cities
-Commodore: 15 cities
-Gaspwyn: 15 cities

Good grief, I didn't realize everyone was this massive already. They haven't even started backfilling! Also, It's not even 1AD yet!

Even with all those cities and two killer wonders, dtay won't get a lot of use out of those Pyramids until he raises his cropyield... I can't tell from his thread, but I bet he's really behind on workers after sinking so many hammers into wonders... although maybe TGW saved him enough hammers on barb defense units to make up for that a bit?

They asked for a big, builderish map, that's what they got. Plus, there's Pindicator's land to settle. TBS grabbed a big chunk of that already without the trouble of conquest. He's really set up to win this game, Thoth's great play notwithstanding. But yeah, it's early yet, plenty of time for neighborly dogpiles to reduce anyone's chances of winning.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

The starting capital was insanely lush too with 3 good food resources. That's a big reason for the fast growth we're seeing.

Good point, pindicator. 3 6-yield tiles (two with bonus commerce) and a plains hill plant and a 3/1 tile to work before it's improved is at the very high end of what we typically see here.
