There is also the side effect of making Currency 20% cheaper, which isn't nothing.

Start off with some world news. Commodore offered OB and since it made no real difference, I went ahead and accepted. Commodore is actually ahead of us on city count now. More noteworthy to the dedlurkers is that dtay landed the Pyramids and swapped to Representation and TBS got a prophet for his shrine. Good for them. Oxy on the otherhand is quite ballsy. He left 2 workers totally exposed, one of which we could have absolutely sniped and he has a settling party on the move, presumably for the tile his axe is on. Nothing we can do about this right now, of course. I was ballsy myself, this settling "party" will settle Cowlake next turn.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
So its t100, that's generally big report time but I'm a little occupied this afternoon, so I'll give you a big t101 report later on today instead. I hope you can find it in your hearts to forgive me.

I hate everything and everyone tonight due to the unfortunate Portuguese thinking they have the right to not just roll over and die when instructed to do so. I don't think even a tier list will belting me back from the brink. But do try. Do. Fuck you, Ronaldo. Anyway, I guess I don't have quite the big report that I originally intended - mostly due to getting super frustrated with the mapstitch program. Regardless, let's start with a few overview shots. The Northwest: Northeast: Southeast: Southwest: The good news is Sugar was hooked this turn so we're able to continue to grow. The crazy batch of cities we spam-planted 10-15t ago are largely up and running, working improved tiles and getting initial infrastructure in. We should get Currency on t106-t107 and that will be a huge benefit as we currently have OB with everyone but dtay, who built the GLH. We've got the next round of expansion planned to happen around then and hopefully that will mostly flesh out our borders. We have about 6 cities to settle to complete that task and the probably another 7-8 that will qualify as backfill locations. Whether we can actually land those - well, that's a lot more questionable. We're on 13 cities which is tied with Commodore for the least. If the others continue to expand at the same rate it is highly probable we will lose some of the contested border locations as we did in the last round of settlements. Lewwyn being Lewwyn would mostly like to send about 10 settlers far and wide and damn the consequences. I'm lobbying for a more measured approach. We'll see what happens. Overall, I had us in a dead heat for 3rd/4th last overview report. I think we're pretty clearly in last place at this one. TBS and Thoth have continued their weed-like growth. Oxy has kept up with those two fairly comfortably as well. Dtay is right there and has 2 of the 3 big economic wonders - Pyramids and GLH. Commodore has Colossus and a shrine. That said, our time to shine is coming. The economy is on the way up and Currency will be outstanding. I suspect Oxy will beat us to Confucianism but founding a religion isn't all that important to us so long as we get a friendly spread or two. We'd prefer to not spread Commodore's shrined religion or TBS's potentially shrined in the future one. But if we got a spread from one of the others that would be equivalent to founding our own since I don't ever expect to have a prophet to burn. Anyway, CoL is another great tech. While most of our cities are at 7-8 maintenance that's obviously going to increase soon and cheap courthouses will go a long way towards cutting costs. After that almost assuredly a push for Civil Service is on the cards. If we can time that with a GP for a GA, I think we'll be in good enough shape to be a pain in the ass in the midgame and take advantage of any mistakes the leaders might make. With that focus on foreign affairs, here's a look at graphs. We're about 6t from having Thoth's, so just imagine most of his right around TBS. TBS fired a Golden Age 3t ago as well, so there's obvious distortion on the far end. Noteworthy: dtay's GNP isn't very impressive considering his pair of wonders. I'm guessing he tanked himself pretty hard given he's on 15 cities with 2 wonders built. Almost assuredly has a shortage of workers. Noteworthy: 3 players build units - Thoth, TBS, Us. 3 don't - Commodore, Oxy, dtay. Oxy in particular is playing a dangerous game. We recently got OB and exploring his territory reveals a whole lot of nothing. If I let him, I'm pretty sure Lewwyn would be massing on the Oxy border shortly. Here's a look at the stats screen - man this seems like a lot of barbs we've killed. And note the sad chariot loss. There's the halfway point in the report. I'll actually play the turn and probably do a t102 look at the cities.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
You know what this game needs? A "take 10" option in combat against barbs.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)
Hearthstone: ArenaDrafts Profile No longer playing Hearthstone.
What's the break even tech rate now? I noticed a fair number of research builds helping to prop up the GNP. All in all, I'd say this is a faster recovery than I would have hoped for a few turns ago. Good job.
Quote:mostly due to getting super frustrated with the mapstitch program... I feel your pain Never, however, underestimate the pleasure of a nice map:
Suttree, I'm going to reassign you to cartography duties in another division. You won't see a change in your base pay but the amount of stitching and screen grabbing work will increase by about 500%. Please report to the PB18 lurker civ mapping department by 0630 tomorrow morning. Thank you for your compliance, citizen!
Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon |
