We're rolling again, gents! After more than a week. Nothing much happened this turn; setting up to take Dtay's last island city, starting Flight (4t at near break-even), noodling around about how to get one extra commando out of two great generals. In honor to us restarting, let's give you some good hot Ottawa porn:
I really really hope this works.

And that's at 80%.
No worries about the carrier names, just as a Canadian, I've always liked the British capital ship names. Was thinking of listing polite six-dollar adjectives, such as Modest, Flexable, Reliable, Organized, Industrious, Peaceful, Content, Rational...

Now we're back in the swing of things! The turn dawned, as it is wont to, with Dtay trying again to make some noise outside of South City. He killed one of my destroyers and lost two of his; good, except for the war weariness. I decided I didn't have nearly enough war weariness, however, so in went the bombing airships and bombarding destroyers. Let's get rid of the Lesser Redoubt, eh?
The first four infantry I slammed into the defenders at roughly 20% odds; they all died but at least pushed the defenders to the yellow. A sacrificial cavalry was next, then an infantry actually won at 20%. The rest, as they say, was a cakewalk. Germany: Isolated to one landmass.
The newly christened Dawson City is actually kind of worth something; seafood to grow, a silver mine to stagnate on, and a nice location. It will need a courthouse, of course, but as a crummy outpost on the outer edge of the universe, it is sufficient.
The real prize so far just came out of revolt; Frobisher Bay is just lovely, isn't she? Note that she is an *actual* helper here already; the 80% break-even goal sees her making more than she's taking. I think the game is going to be going long enough for me to actually plant a couple more cottages here; towns are only 35 turns away. Okay, maybe it's not perfect, but it would amuse me, so there.
I definitely feel like I owe some TLC to these beautiful islands; it's no Greenerland, nor even Greenland, but there is actually some utility to be found in this stuff. Which is rare enough; I'm still bumping along at a pitiful 7th of 8 in land. But as you see here...there lurks yet another possible place to settle, just east of the battleship...
I have entertained the thought of training up another commando or three on poor 8th of 8; their harboring the known fugitive and pirate the Blue Baron is also inexcusable. However, the doughty and plump merchants of Canada remind me that as pitiful and loathsome as the Greeks are, they represent an excellent market for our wares; declaring war on them might indeed cost as much as 100 gold per turn.
...still want another great general for a Commando, though.
