-"Byzantine didn't like me and were plotting against me" -> Byzantine hates Jowy now and is plotting against him because he wouldn't help them at all.
-"Spullla has no intentions of working with me and will eventually declare war on me" -> Spullla is sick of dealing with Jowy and wants to kill him much sooner than what they were planning because Jowy is being dumb.
To be fair to Jowy, rego stitched him up with a NAP the settled aggressively in the other direction. If that were not enough, rego went on to declare that Jowy putting a city 4 tiles from his own capital would be aggressive When it came to the choice of helping Byz or not, Jowy had a tough choice: anger Ottomans (who will be a major player) by propping up Byz, or not help and anger Spulla (with whom he realised there would be conflict at some point) & annoy the largely irrelevant Byz. For me, Jowy's decision was an understandable one (he needs a strong ally against Spulla) but his handling of the diplo was very poor, and has now been compounded by settling Thebes in a needlessly aggressive spot (in spite of recognizing the peril he's in ).

I have to say, looking at Jowy's latest communications to the CoW, that his situation assessment skills seem rather poor. I mean, he can't even get Spulla's number of cities correct, which everyone who has contact with India will be able to see.

What is really interesting is that Korea now has an island city (which I believe is the first of anyone) - this could make Whosit's desire for the quick destruction of Korea much more difficult. If I were him, I would want to use my galleys to destroy Korea totally rather than against India. Its not like anyone will be able to take him on with his aggressive Praetorians if he does!
Does Spulla have any relationship with Korea? If not, they could be a good ally and critical to their survival from a CoW attack if they can keep Whosit's Praets away

However Whosit is currently planning to build galleys in his production city on the inner coast, not in his commerce city on the outer coast.
Edit: Yes, Rome should be able to see on the F4 screen that Korea has copper, once they've founded their island city.

Once again apologies for my noobishness
Hey, i didn't mean to sound really accusatory. Was at work and mildly stressed when i wrote it so the tone was probably all wrong. I was more enquiring if that was indeed the case. i.e. whether potentially it could be read.
Either way, sorry if i made you feel bad!

Yep they can BUT will Whosit think to check? He seems fairly confident that he's blocked off all opportunity for them to hook it up. Will be interesting to see his reaction when he sees the first axeman tho!

Isn't that better than signing an NAP and settling aggressively in his direction? :neenernee

No, because that would be reasonable grounds to break the NAP

Wonder if Sulla/Jowy has just chatted team Spulla to death... was thinking the CoW attack would be much less dangerous if they'd already pre built 10 horse archers... still, wondering if Speaker will get his way about building a sensible military?
Finding it fascinating spectator sport!
